Intro Sequence by blue_nines (9S) in DBJ (Death Battle Judgement Discord)

Ao Oni, the ‘Blueberry Demon’ that is rumored to trap humans in its domain.

Spooky, the ‘Cute Ghost’ who is rumored to ask that you go through 1000 rooms.

Connections

  • Both are originally 2D ‘Sprite-based’ Indie Horror Games that were remastered in 3D. (YIPEE REMAKES)

  • The two of them were children who were ‘saved’ by their Father (when the Girl who became the Oni was on the brink of death & when Spooky HAD died), tethering them to the physical world as a spiritual being.

  • After this transformation their parents had soon passed away. The two of them had grown a hatred for the Humans who wouldn’t take them seriously in life (Spooky wanted to be feared & Naoki who didn’t want to be overlooked)… after all these people wouldn’t even take notice of them in death. So they planned to take a sort of ‘vengeance’ on ALL of them. Due to these factors the two were left to inherit the mansion and start filling it with monsters.

  • Rumors started popping up about this mansion full of monsters, which led the hosts (Ao & Spooky) to play ‘games’ with their victims… which led to their hordes constantly being able to kill them for sport, absorb them, or just straight up eat them; which inevitably helped grow their ranks as they converted more and more people into monsters/spirits.

  • They were eventually beaten at their own game, when the ‘Protagonist’ of their series made their way through their gauntlets and challenges, making it out alive & stopping their plan.

  • TAKEN TAKEN TAKEN TAKEN

Now I know a lot of people tend to be hasty on matchups like this, as you may not think this is very special in comparison to both sides’ matchup spreads, but realistically- neither has had matchups that explicitly focused on their actual backstories (like again- the whole being experimented on & being brought back by their father angle), which the Oni can tap into extremely well given they literally have the same origin… ONTOP of having great dynamic. Though in terms of connections the same sorta problem is occurring with the Oni’s spread, whose matchups have mostly involved monsters with infections (& literally that’s it)- like… to me it's kinda sad to me that’s all people think the Oni’s got going for him in terms of story is it’s a monster that transforms & infects… and that’s it (Tinky Winky unironically stinks btw, y’all need to stop pushing that). To be honest though, both of their matchup spreads are pretty lackluster. No disrespect to either side, but the Oni’s side is just a dumpster fire... and ontop of the old infection problem people are trying to push the Oni's main theme in any matchup as 'primordial evil' which REALLY dumbs down what the Oni is, especially given that is only a SINGLE adaptation of the Oni and a really small part of the character IN THE ADAPTATION at that- like you CAN go that route it's just really weird to hone in on it for connections, the Oni really has a lot more going on than people give it credit for both personality and story wise. I do think at the very least on Spooky’s side has potential with MUs like Malak, it’s just even that MU doesn’t fully explore her origin or story & really seems to just be vibes (which I respect)... all we're trying to demonstrate is that for story purposes this touches on the overall story for both. With that being said though- I do hope people give this one a chance like my other matchups, especially considering all the effort that went into this blog & exploring both in a deep dive.

Before We Start…

Canon

This needs to be cleared up before the blog actually starts for the sake of clarity. Ao Oni, VERY CLEARLY, has no real canon. Now, I know how crazy that sounds—"just use his first game and that's it, why don’tcha?" you may be asking. Well, first off, that'd be super lame. But second, Ao Oni at its core is a rumor, a tale, a story, it’s all supposed to be the characters recalling their events at the mansion (you can tell based on past tense verbiage they use). Though what pushes the notion of canon not really being a factor across all the games is across all of its versions (updates) & separate games, it’s had numerous changes (like different character deaths from the original and escape methods), retcons (characters being removed), mansion restructures, different locations from the original, and numerous other story details changed. And that's just talking about the games. There are movies, animes, light novels, manga, cameos, and crossovers. Ao has so many media shenanigans (that do these SAME exact things changing some details each time that differ from the original) to the point that it'd be impossible to deem a 'canon' Ao Oni in the traditional sense (especially since noprops has implied they don’t really care about canon when it comes to the Ao Oni IP). So, we have one of two routes we can take: we separate every single version (like the game versions Ao Oni 1.1, Ao Oni 1.2, Ao Oni 2, 3, & separate media) into its own version (which stinks), or we soft composite Ao Oni because they're an ever-changing indie character with years of history. I'm choosing the latter. That means everything is on the table that HAS BEEN endorsed by Noprops: official animations and movies, all the official games, the light novel, manga, books, anime, and whatever other obscure media we can get our hands on (essentially all Ao Oni games listed here; alongside the Remake, Mobile Games, & Absolute Fear). Even the Oni’s crossover with Re;Quest 2 will be considered, as the two series are already similar enough in theme to the point where it should be considered for both sides—both being about fiction and reality merging (ontop of tons of horror elements and demonic involvement)—literally a direct parallel to the novel and a majority of Oni material. Given these similar tones, on top of the Oni having a loose canon, having story involvement in Re;Quest itself rather than just some random appearance (and the crossover being endorsed by the creator obviously), it will be considered. Though there is one more thing to note… despite how all these stories are endorsed and the same Oni a few changes between each media (like weaknesses for example) do pop up from time to time that contradict each other, in those situations we’ll go by the source that has more supporting evidence (as it wouldn’t make sense for a peak Oni to both resist and be weak to something simultaneously). This Analysis is also going to primarily focus on the ‘Novelization’ of the Oni story-wise (Oni Alpha / Naoki Oni) as it gives the most detailed look into its backstory, while also being the closest to Spooky’s in terms of connections. That's about it in terms of what will be included for Ao Oni—literally everything that is reasonable for a ‘loose canon’ (or atleast the stuff we WERE able to get). As for Spooky, it's what you'd expect: "Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion" and "HD Renovation" with all of its DLC and Story Content… which includes Endless Mode. Now while you’d think it’s non canon, not only do Endless Mode Specimens like Otto appear in trailers, but stylish_kira the game developer who was acting IN CHARACTER as Spooky did answer a lot of questions for us). Exclusive Entities from Endless Mode like Otto are explicitly mentioned to have lore and live in Spooky’s Mansion- and Lisa & White Face are mentioned to literally be ‘Free Agents’ on the pretense that they get a place to stay, yes really. The most likely reason they aren’t mentioned or don’t show up in the Main Story is primarily because of how many specimens and floors she actively has to keep track of, which is evident by how the Karamari Hospital DLC showcases over 8000 rooms (which means there might be around 60 specimen we’ve never seen regardless; endless mode is just showing off a hypothetical scenario for if we DID see them as its a simulation of the entire mansion). Endless Mode at its core isn’t really an ‘updated’ Mansion, it’s just a hypothetical larger amount of floors we never got to explore; so it should be relatively fine to use for our research purposes. Aside from that inclusion, canonicity is pretty straight forward for Spooky’s side… With that being said, this document contains grotesque imagery, flashing lights, & sensitive topics like suicide (which obviously may make it unsavory for some), with that being said…Spoilers AHEAD!!! Hope you all enjoy the blog!

Background

Ao Oni

(A Curse Has Manifested This Creature Into Reality- What Is the Ao Oni?)

Banner by Cheese from DBJ (Death Battle Judgement)

“We heard a rumor about a mansion on the outskirts of town... they say there is a monster that lives there...”

Terror, stress, anguish, heartbreak—they seep into our lives like venom. As they build, they twist and distort, festering into something darker, something ravenous. It manifests as an all-consuming HUNGER for vengeance. This hunger is no ordinary desire for retribution; it grows monstrous. It lurks in the darkest corners of our minds, taking on different shapes: the Bellflower Monster, the Blueberry Man, the Monster in the Mansion, or even our most cherished desire. It has many names, but beneath each mask lies the same ancient being: the Ao Oni.

Though its stories have been whispered through generations, shifting across cultures and folklore, the essence of the Oni remains unchanged. What began as a shadowy myth soon became something more sinister—something real. Now, this may be hard to believe, but in the beginning, before any of the rumors, there was a god called the Messiah. The Messiah was a god of a far-off land, which many people praised even in the coming years. What made it so amazing was the fact that it could grant ANY wish that your heart desires if you perform rituals for the entity; though, they were fairly... erm... demonic, to say the least. This entity inevitably made a proxy of sorts—’a messenger’, someone who could carry out these wishes for it—that being the demonic creature- the Oni itself. What was originally a young girl was quickly changed upon being fated to open a cursed box full of "hate-filled" spirits infused with blue insects… a literal ancient evil. It quickly jumped into her mouth and infested her body, it turned her blue and changed her entire physiology into that of a blue creature; this creature, manifested and demanifested at will, it would appear wherever this Messiah wanted it to be, the dark magic of the ritual literally bringing it into and out of existence whenever it was needed in order to fulfill any wish that is asked of the god.

Eventually, this led a boy named Naoki to take to black magic and use this ritual of the Messiah to condemn a fellow student—a bully named Takuro—to death. However, the ritual was finicky due to Naoki's own inexperience; by the end of it, this "curse" was reflected back onto him through cause and effect, leading Naoki to be forced into a situation where he died due to this "curse of the Jailhouse." After this, Naoki continued living on as a vengeful spirit—one who couldn't accept the outcome—and, with the Oni's help, would make their lives a living hell, even if it took hundreds of tries. In this spirit form, Naoki learned to control the dreams of others and, through that power, subconsciously made Shun, a game programmer and new bully victim to Takuro, create his game in the image of the Jailhouse Mansion, in which he programmed all of the students Naoki had made him envision die horrible deaths at the hands of the monster. Shun’s creation, which was obviously a mere story at first to him, began to blur the line between fiction and reality. The more the tale was told, the more it fed the Oni, until it finally tore through the fabric of the game and entered our world MIRACULOUSLY, as if God itself had stepped in. The game and the Jailhouse had linked, combining reality and the world of the game.

Naoki had led these classmates back to the Mansion again and again, but each time they managed to free themselves by escaping. Despite this, the Oni's hatred only festered more; eventually realizing this wouldn’t work leaving it in the hands of the Monster by itself… Naoki through the realization of the Monster’s mimicking abilities (like how Takuro managed to keep his intelligence as an Oni) got the brilliant idea to have the Oni “mimic” him, by forcing the ORIGINAL Oni (the young girl) to eat some of his DNA from his original corpse, Naoki’s spirit became tethered to the new body as he obtained a form once again to wreak havoc. As an Oni, Naoki, with a newfound bloodlust for the very friends who had abandoned him in life, made it his new goal to lure them into the Mansion. His new form—deformed and unnatural—became the embodiment of vengeance. They no longer sought salvation, but a twisted form of retribution. It craved the thrill of torment, the satisfaction of watching their prey writhe in terror. The Oni delighted in giving them hope, only to snatch it away before devouring them—savoring every second of their fear. This "game" had begun; given this game was now reality, it gave the Oni and Naoki the ability to start an endless loop of escape and death—forever reversing time and repeating this game FOREVER. The Oni appeared in different times, places, and even dimensions.

But no matter how far it wandered, their eyes always found them—the same group of bullies: Takeshi, Mika, Takuro, and their acquaintance Hiroshi. They were marked by Naoki's wrath, cursed to forever be his prey. Every time they managed to escape, they were dragged back into the nightmare, forced to face the Oni again. No matter how many times they died or how often they beat it, the Oni always returned, feeding on the terror their tale continued to spread. When the Oni wasn't targeting them, it was feasting on the hapless souls who manifested it all across the globe.

And it spread like a contagion. The more people spoke of it, the more powerful it became—lurking in the shadows of consciousness, infecting minds, and distorting reality. The Mansion's curse was not confined to the mansion anymore. The Oni and Naoki manifested wherever the story traveled—forests, villages, towns, mountains, oceans, data, the mind itself. There was no place safe from its grasp. The chase would never end... until... one fabled try... one in a million. Naoki understandably was mad at everyone for acting like he didn’t exist; for ignoring the pain Takuro had thrust upon him; for laughing at him and thinking he was pitiful. But in death, it was only amplified more by the Oni’s original personality—the Alpha, the young girl who was consumed by that “hate-filled” bug to birth the original Oni.

While Naoki came to terms with his own feelings and finally put aside his differences to try to help the others due to Shun’s encouragement and how the Alpha Oni wanted to kill ALL HUMANS (which was a big nono for Naoki given he only wanted revenge on the students of the school), he tried resisting, but in the end Naoki’s consciousness was overwritten by the hatred of the girl. With the impending doom of the Oni nearly letting loose thousands of bugs that could infect their entire city and spread across the whole world, Shun, Takuro, Hiroshi, Takeshi, Mika, and Kazuya went back in time to stop the girl from ever being infected by the bug to begin with; which, in turn, retconned the Oni’s creation in the first place, making it so Naoki never became cursed, and he was finally able to live a good life, with everyone recalling their memories… leading to a newfound understanding that… well- basically FIXED everything that could have possibly went wrong in this new timeline.

Sadly, despite this, the Oni could never be stopped as the curse found a way to resurface… once again, because it wasn’t just a monster born from a story. The Oni was the story born from a monster (or God, rather)—an eternal force of fear, rage, and vengeance; always lurking, always waiting for its next victim—waiting, waiting, waiting—as it manifested in a new form, ready for the chase and loop to start again.

Rascal Love doc real i love you

Spooky

(A Cute Innocent Mansion Full of Monsters? Welcome To The House That Spooky Built!)

Banner by Cheese from DBJ (Death Battle Judgement)

“For as long as you can remember, legends have been told about the derelict mansion upon the hill that casts a blanket of darkness over the town. The history of the house itself is virtually unknown, and even the town's oldest residents cannot remember the mansion's origin. Being an avid history enthusiast, you embark up the mountain to visit the manor. Hoping to shed some light on the backstory of this crumbling fortress of darkness.”

There were rumors about a mansion on the outskirts of town. It was said that monsters lived there—wait a minute, that sounds familiar... This mysterious, rundown mansion had been constructed discreetly, so no one really knew where it came from, who built it, or anything about its history. Yet, that didn’t stop the rumors from spreading far and wide. Eventually, this caught the attention of a certain historian who had the gall to enter the decrepit place. Upon entering, they were greeted by the 'friendly' ghost and owner of the mansion, a young girl named Spooky! She was overjoyed to finally have a guest after so long and decided to give them a challenge: traverse over 1,000 rooms and make it to the end of the mansion—just as she had done with everyone before (though few ever won). There was no mention of a ghost or a challenge in the rumors, but the 'protagonist' of our story couldn’t help but accept, descending into the sickening madness of the monsters lurking deep inside.

Spooky, it turned out, thoroughly enjoyed putting 'subjects' through her game, testing if they could survive the gauntlet she had created. To her, the real fun was watching which Specimens could rack up the most kills. Spooky was certainly... a problem child, but it wasn't entirely her fault. In life, all she had ever wanted was to prove her strength, to scare people, to show she was more than just some cute and adorable little girl. One Halloween night, still alive, Spooky decided to scare someone with firecrackers. While it did scare someone, that person happened to be her own father, an army veteran suffering from severe PTSD. The shock of the scare sent him into a panic, and he accidentally shot his daughter, killing her instantly.

At the time, her parents were building the mysterious GL Labs, a facility hidden beneath the mansion that conducted experiments with monsters. When they found their daughter was really dead, grief-stricken, they used all the technology at their disposal to fix their predicament. Her mother passed away shortly after, likely by suicide, but her father was consumed with the need to see his daughter again, no matter the cost. After endless experimentation, he managed to tether her spirit to the realm of the living & the mansion itself, giving her a second 'life' as a ghost. But something had changed—she wasn’t quite the same. Her mischievousness grew more intense, and she became far less responsive to reason. Before long, she was sabotaging the experiments, setting monsters free to go on killing sprees.

Soon after, the atrocities began piling up, and Hell itself started to seep through due to her father’s reckless actions. Unable to cope with the loss of his wife, the transformation & killing of his child, and the impending doom he had unleashed, he took his own life. Spooky, left alone, inherited the mansion and continued her father’s experiments, collecting entities from across the world for her new 'grand plan'—to invade the world and prove how terrifying she could be. If she couldn’t scare people in life, she would show them the true terror of spirits. She gathered thousands of souls for her attempt, luring more and more people to the mansion, 'accidentally' killing them on their way to the 1,000th floor and adding their souls to her army. With the Hellgate opening, it seemed nothing could stop her... except for our protagonist.

After making it through the 995th floor, they took an elevator down to a secret area of the manor—a hospital that led to GL Labs and the impending Hellgate. At the end, they were faced with one choice: self-destruct the entire facility, or potentially sacrifice their life to lead a spirit to the Hellgate and close it beforehand. Depending on the choice, they would either witness the spirits of the Hellgate breaking free, unleashing pain and suffering across the world, or see the souls of the mansion finally freed, as Spooky reunited with her family in Heaven.

Despite everything Spooky did—all the horror, the corruption, the grand plan to make people believe in her power—what she had truly wanted all along was to be taken seriously. In the end, after all the chaos, she was given the chance to experience the true afterlife she had been robbed of—a place where she could finally be free and truly happy.

Intelligence, Experience, & Skill

Ao Oni

The Oni has existed for a VERY VERY long time. It existed in rumors & folktales which implies it's been around for 100s to potentially 1000s of years… hunting humans down and killing them, a majority of them were armed; though it didn’t prove to be too effective against it. Now while people may think the Oni is a mindless animal, it's been compared to that of human intelligence multiple times. The Oni upon stumbling upon technology for the first time (a tablet) was capable of researching and mimicking an entirely new species, giving it the ability to adapt to those it consumes; these ‘adaptations’ are so convincing that even life-long friends don’t notice the ‘changes’. Ontop of this ANYONE it consumes it assumes the knowledge of ontop of their own (which includes Hiroshi who can do Phoenix Wright level bullshit like this), this knowledge increases exponentially with the more that they devour. This makes it really smart obviously, it's been capable of sneak attacks and creating traps / deceptions to give his ‘players’ hope during the game. It’s very aware of how its prey operates patiently waiting for them to show themself when it believes they are nearby (in the novel and games), leading it to plan ambushes. The Oni is also said to be responsible for setting up all the puzzles within the mansion and has created mansion-spanning traps in the past.

Spooky

@TheLordSolar56 on Game Jolt

Spooky, Is really cool, and epic, and like, has a million zillion years of experience and is better than the oni in every way.    (No real experience). Even if we’re SUPER generous to Spooky, she has no real experience feats because she’s never been in a fight before. Though that’s not to say she isn’t intelligent, she managed to lure and gather hundreds of souls together to form her own army, was capable of reprogramming a door spatially (just somehow), and was able to manage GL Labs; due to context clues throughout the game like how she sought out materials from separate sections of the mansion and oversaw many of the experiments.

Onis

“There is no way monsters can exist. It’s scientifically impossible...

It's been weeks since I last escaped that creature’s grasp and I don’t know when I’m going to be pulled back in again... I still get glimpses of their slimy twisted bodies…that vision of the torture my friends endured. The horrors that await those who go inside are each vile in their own way. I've accounted for and studied a plethora of separate monsters on my travels.

Blockman (Fuwatti) Oni

An evolution of the creature, Shun’s game keeps getting more and more advanced. This variant starts INCREDIBLY small, only standing around 50 centimeters in height, though it makes up for that with its adaptability and innovation; it even learned how to fire bitter-tasting ‘juice’ lasers. Aside from that it’s around as fast as the normal creature. Though it can burst around at high speeds in short intervals to the point of outpacing us… it can even fuse with other ‘Blockmen’ in order to become bigger and stronger- plus it can mimic material as its a ‘sentient block’ itself, though that’s not to say it has no weaknesses. Once it ‘bursts’ and increases it’s own speed, they are locked into that forward momentum; incapable of making turns, that just means you have to get out of the way in time. They’ll commit even if it means it’ll run straight into danger and more reassuring it seems to have a fear of heights which you can use to get some distance. Aside from that…I suppose I’ve taken interest in the ‘Fuwatti’ themed sales products it makes sometimes, though I can’t imagine it gets good business locked inside a mansion- it’s recently become like a pet to Mika named Fwuffy. Fwuffy is afraid of the main creature, though if prompted, it can be tossed in a sort of ‘Fuwatti Throw’. Whatever that means…?

Muscle (Squatto) Oni

Through my experiences this is another evolution path the creature can take; standing around over 4 meters tall, it’s bigger and stronger than the original. It seems to have sacrificed a bit of speed at the cost of it’s size and strength, the best course of action is to out-maneuver it.

Jellyfish Oni

The creature has tried various times to spread out its evolutions, this one seems to be imitating that of a Scyphozoa; each one of its tentacles is covered in thousands of cnidoblasts which can be used to paralyze and incapacitate prey. Given it’s size, it’s safe to say that any venom coming from it would kill a human instantly.

Blob Oni

This variant of the creature is probably the least threatening of them all, due to being a goo blob with dozens of eyes. Despite originally being an amoeba, it grew incredibly large, at the cost of being ridiculously slow, it seems disinterested in targeting anything unless it comes near it- and you can really just outpace it by walking… I fail to see the benefit. It absorbs it’s foes with their malleable body, like a normal amoeba; though similar to the cockroaches can produce acid, it needs to ambush prey due to all these factors, with enough time however it will grow to the point of enveloping entire buildings. It can also develop wings.

Insect Onis

These seem relatively harmless, the butterfly I found was purple similar to the Monster… and ended up leading me to the mansion. Another was what appeared to be a Grasshopper which appears to be the most dangerous of all the Oni. It’s what started the infection to begin with, add a bit of water and they come to life and multiply rapidly. They enter into your body through your skin, mouth, or any accessible region; anything it touches becomes infected (including water) and once exposed it can start to change you into an Oni from in or outside.

Rat Oni

One of the first variants I’ve ever seen during my first few visits to the creature’s mansion. While not especially strong on their own, they travel in numbers ranging in the 1000s, and are capable of chewing through flesh and bone… as long as you don’t get yourself cornered or agitate them, you should be fine. If all else fails, they do have one huge weakness, not only do they follow a main ‘leader’, but they’re scared of fire, meaning if you can scare the leader they’ll follow suit.

Roach Oni

These things are an infestation, they share traits with shrimp, cockroaches, and a host of other creatures… Its one distinct trait is the eyeball on its back which constantly looks at you. Takuro is especially afraid of them- though for good reason. Not only are they ranging in the 100s, but their bodies secrete a very strong hydrochloric acid that can melt a body into nothing when they envelop you. The best thing to do is to not touch them, or at the very least try to keep your distance (if you can, though they can FLY).

Avian Oni

This creature is a mutation of a bird, it's capable of moving around at high-speeds and can crack holes in walls when it charges its prey. Fwuffy took it down on the school rooftop.

Cat Oni

The Mansion seems to be home to all kinds of animals, this one is fairly passive though has an affinity for the taste of blood… that being said- only blood it has reasonable access to, it hasn’t really attacked anyone before who hasn’t provoked it. Outside of that, it’s actually not all that different from a normal cat, you could probably keep this thing as a pet. Cats have exceptionally good vision in darkness (effectively night vision), are really perceptive to incoming threats & their general surroundings through the vibrations in the air, and are great at jumping & swimming.

Warped Oni (Fourth-Dimensional Oni)

I… don’t know much about this one- it is a distorted version of the main creature with similar capabilities, it’s just spatially warped somehow… Perhaps it came from another dimension.

Hunchback Oni

This version of the creature is quite strange… it tends to act aloof, but is fairly crafty. Just like the normal creature it’s incredibly intelligent, probably more so than the original, it’s managed to build its own vehicles (flying ones) and figured out how to pilot them; if left unchecked it could become the most intelligent of them all. It’s highly persistent, capable of moving even when completely frozen, it simply adapted to the ice & became able to steady itself on slippery terrain… your best chance is trying to outrun it.

Slug Oni

This creature is definitely on the more harmless side, it seems to be a great deal higher in intelligence than the others… and can even understand human language; obviously being a slug it can leave behind a sticky trail to ensnare prey, despite this it makes for a good mount. It made for a good friend for quite awhile, but required blood to live…  growing with each consumption, and with it refusing to eat- it inevitably died.

Bat Oni

A variant of the creature based on a Bat, the majority of its body is made up of its head, it flies after prey hoping to suck their blood. They can also attack in swarms.

I hate it, I want it dead.

Fish Oni

It’s a fish.

Hikakin Oni

This creature looks like a certain Youtuber… it’s pretty clumsy and has taken itself out before; though it possesses all the same powers as the normal creatures (this thing is actually in like every Ao Oni game, though it’s a literal joke).

‘Human’ Oni (lol)

This variant of the creature has its pros and cons; once an infected human maintains control of their form, they retain their consciousness and gain benefits in a ‘copy’ human form stolen during the original host's death, granting the creature increased knowledge and intelligence. They are capable of even faster speeds than the normal monster at the cost of some strength, though even this form has an incredible amount. The main reason the Onis became human is so that they could travel the world and bypass the threat of the ultraviolet light found throughout it; they are very much capable of turning back at any time if they so wish or if they get angry.

Spider (Enraged) Oni

This is the awakened state of the ‘Spider’ Oni, it grew to a size comparable to the forest we were running in… it chases you down at alarming pace and when it comes to attacks it darts its spiky appendages at you.

Senju Kannon (Enraged) Oni (1000 Hands Oni)

This awakened state is truly terrifying, the creature increases in size to be over 10 meters tall, and it even grows 100s of hands. It’s fairly fast and will use these hands to try to crush you from all angles; your best course of action is to run and get out of its sight.

Puppet Oni

This Oni is a puppet on strings that descends from above in hopes of attacking unsuspecting prey. This makes it one of the most mobile of all the Oni’s moving between place to place almost asif teleporting… once it lands on the ground it dashes forward at terrifying speeds.

Zombie Oni

Even the dead aren’t safe, it appears that any rotting corpses in the area can also be corrupted and turned into these monsters. They prefer to hunt in packs due to their slow nature, just out-maneuver them and you’ll be fine.

Demon Lord (Zombie Enraged) Oni

This creature is something out of some sort of fantasy novel- though nothing quite surprises me at this point. Its primary functions are being able to fly around, similar to that of a bird or dragon. While it does tend to fly at random, it can fire multiple spreads of Poison Orbs & spheres that make it incredibly hard to maneuver around despite that. The farther you are away, the more time you have to react, so keep your distance!

Clown Oni

These ‘Clowns’ are real jokesters, as opposed to chasing after you, they’ll leisurely roll on their ball as they chase you. Similar to Fuwatti they’re capable of speeding up at random intervals in order to catch up, the key difference here being that they come in groups of three. Luckily unlike the normal creatures, these ones are strictly tethered by an object, destroying it will send them back whence they came.

Tree Oni

At one point the creature managed to corrupt an entire tree, turning it into an Oni; upon doing so it gained the ability to shoot pollen that can kill you on contact, and the ability to produce vines to anywhere within its vicinity.

Onisaurus

It’s a GODDAMN ONISAURUS

Asura Oni

This Oni seems to be based off of mythology, it has grown multiple arms, and become capable of shooting out layers upon layers of fireballs at enemies. It’s also incredibly fast, your only hope is to go on the defensive.

God Oni

Upon receiving multiple sacrifices, this Oni arose from the Earth to try and kill us in one final attempt. It resembles that of a Fish, though it can fly, and has hundreds of tentacles protruding from its mouth. Its main method of attacking is to ram opponents & spew these tentacles like spears at enemies, though it seems to have a very one track mind, it's the reason we were able to escape in the end.

Lightning God (Zeus) Oni

This creature is based on a mythological god of lightning, seemingly originating from multiple separate pantheons. It rides a flying cloud to soar around the air, can call down lightning strikes, fire electric energy projectiles, and fire out homing electric orbs which seek out victims. Unlike the other creatures this one is much more suited for combat, your chances of survival are low at best EVEN with a weapon…

Other Onis

So, there's a lot of Oni’s out there, but due to, well, most of them not showing much, we didn't give them a solo spot.

But, since this is research at the end of the day, WE ARE going to try and name every single other oni.

There's something else to mention beforehand, and it's that the Oni has “Non-Oni allies”, which we are also listing.

Rascal

Niche Japanese mascot that we found while researching for the blog, idk what he does but here's a link to the official twitter account, we love this little fellow.

Claws & Fangs

Self explanatory; the Oni has claws and fangs it uses to eat, mame, & kill its prey.

Jailhouse (Mansion)

The Mansion itself is the place that the rumors of the Monster first begun, it acts as its own personal domain that it lives within, not only can it be reworked spatially through the use of wormholes, to warp people from separate dimensions to the mansion, & effectively become infinite; but, it even has its own plethora of items (though we’ll only mention the important ones):

Closets

The Closets inside the mansion are usually empty and tend to hold very little value, though the survivors of the Oni’s games & even the Oni itself has used it to hide themselves away before escaping or leading into an ambush.

Doors

The Oni’s mansion is chalk-full of dozens of doors of varying quality, even steel doors so strong that it can’t even break them.

Keys

The Mansion has keys spread throughout it that can be used to open doors, these keys can also be used to lock it (whaddya know, they’re literally just keys).

Soap

The Oni has soap bars… for showering… or well they would be if it EVER USED THEM.

Plate Shard

One of the most iconic setpieces in the mansion is a broken piece of plateshard that can be used to reveal hidden doors & presumably be used to stab people.

Screwdriver

The screwdriver is a tool found in the mansion with two different types of ‘heads’ that can be swapped out in order to unscrew bolts and such… or just be plunged into someone similar to the live action movie.

Lighter & Lighter Oil

The Mansion has a lighter that the Oni COULD use to light up the environment… though it hardly needs it given the enhanced vision it possesses; if anything its a hindrance as ‘light’ from these have caused it to lose control over its copy forms.

Shovel

The Mansion has a shovel that’s tough enough to break through stone & dirt walls when used by a human, you could only imagine how strong it’d be in the hands of the Oni.

Hammer

The Mansion has a Hammer that can be used to break objects & as you’d imagine, can be used as a melee weapon.

Scissors

The Mansion has a pair of scissors that can be used to cut paper, what else would scissors be for? PG Scissors.

Knives

The Mansion comes equipped with tons of kitchenware, though the most common would have to be knives. The Oni just keeps these things stockpiled throughout for no apparent reason, however they are very sharp!

Syringes

The Mansion has tons of syringes that can be used to inject sedatives into targets, it's also been used to inject targets with the Oni Virus supposedly… given all the foreshadowing.

Crowbar

The Mansion comes equipped with a Crowbar which can be used to pry things open, very handy for someone weak or strong!

Dynamite

The Mansion comes equipped with some highly secured explosives that you can find in vaults, as you’d expect- they’re great at blowing up stuff!

Cellphone

The Mansion has cellphones inside to toy with the Oni’s prey, they do not work… but the Oni can seemingly make calls without phones (as seen in the Abilities Section).

Doll

Why do you have this?

‘Slow’ Chains

It makes the survivors of the Oni’s game even slower than normal by decreasing their speed.

‘Confusion’ Vials

This ‘potion’ inverts the senses and motor functions of the survivors of the Oni’s game, swapping the direction they’re TRYING to go to the opposite direction.

‘Ao Oni’ Virus

Anyone who stumbles upon the ‘Ao Oni’ virus is turned into an Oni, after a ‘round’ of gameplay. This can be found in generally any area that the Oni has been around; it's an infection, they can spread through basically anything. The Virus can do a TON of stuff, though we spread it throughout the Ability Section due to separate canonicities.

Ritual Portals

A portal that the Oni’s and Survivors use in Ao Oni Online to get around the Map exceptionally fast by teleporting from one Portal to another separate one.

Apples

Really for no apparent reason Oni’s just seem to carry around Apples that they can throw at such high-speeds that they become ballistic projectiles.

Spikes & Spike Balls

The Oni has collected a ton of ‘trap’ material over the years and has even managed to find spiky balls to toss at enemies, killing them instantly on contact.

Bombs

The Oni carries around bombs that it can scatter across the field when fighting it, these bombs run on a timer before eventually exploding.

Oni Vehicles

The Onis both have Cars and Bus that they use to travel in massive hordes when tracking someone down, it's actually quite effective.

Ao Oni Earrings / God Hair Ornament

These two items are commemorative items the Oni hands out for you escaping it or defeating it, sorta like a trophy; though a really good one! The Earrings which you get for escaping increases your SP (Mana) & the God’s Hair Ornament which you get for defeating it buffs all of your Stats by +50!

Roller Skates

Upon putting on a pair of rollerskates, the Onis are capable of running even faster than they’re normally able to.

UFO

The Oni apparently got tired of its inability to fly normally, so it just created its own spacecraft so that it could visit other planets whenever it wanted.

Spacesuit

There is no real reason for him to wear this if we’re being completely honest, this is on an entirely separate planet so you’d think it's to breathe… but like there’s normal humans there who are breathing no problem; he’s just being extra.

Thermal Goggles

The Oni’s have managed to use a ton of technology (though this once seems a bit useless given they already have thermal vision); though if they plop on these goggles it helps them see uh… see better, I guess!

Poison Trap

The Trap fires off orbs that kill the Player on contact, though once they land on the ground it creates a radius that is unlike the Oni’s normal gas… can kill you in 3 seconds (It also looks like the Demons from DOOM for some reason).

Bellflower

The Bellflower is a plant that can completely dominate the minds of anyone who smells its pheremones to the point where it can force people into obedience to the point that it can make you commit suicide. The Flower can make itself appear desirable to those it affects, in order to get into a position where they can breed with a ‘host’. This Human that they’ve infected with their pollen goes on to spread it through sex- it also causes their genitals to fall off, anyone who had ever been infected mutates into a new Oni. If that’s not bad enough, it has the ability to manipulate or erase the memories from the people around it. The Bellflower can also act in self-defense if someone tries to destroy it, it is capable of entangling people in its vines.

Naoki

Naoki is sort of like a ‘man behind the curtain’ sorta helper to the Oni. Naoki was originally seeking the Messiah’s help with his wish of killing Takuro; though when that backfired due to some foul play, he was the one who ended up dying instead. Luckily for him, due to the Oni’s liking for him, & their mutual desire to kill humans (in Naoki’s case being that of his fellow students), the curse of the Jailhouse had Naoki’s Spirit linked to the Oni… despite how the Oni needs no spirit to live; it essentially became the Oni’s guiding hand and watchful eye, bringing it constant food by luring humans into the Mansion… until eventually the ‘Alpha’ had consumed Naoki’s DNA and let them share the same body. Naoki is completely invisible to normal humans, with only Anna who had the power to see ghosts being capable of seeing him. Naoki is capable of giving everyone these dreams every single night & could even communicate with these individuals and make them feel pain while stuck inside (inside Takeshi’s dreams it’s explained that the Oni is the literal manifestation of his own fear and regrets). Despite how much Naoki loves saying it, he’s anything but useless in this form- even as a ghost he’s capable of harming people & manipulating/interacting with his environment; that and it's said that he is not damageable by normal means. In terms of actual equipment Naoki carries around gardening equipment (plus a screwdriver & marker), a Oni costume, has sleeping pills to put people to… well- to sleep, and the game disks for Ao Oni which it can use to terraform any building he’s inside into the Jailhouse. Lastly if everything goes too off the rails, he can manipulate the ‘time’ within the game with the ‘Slave Clock’, in order to reverse it to any point in time he wants (which Shun used to go back 20 years).

Honoka

Honoka is the ACTUAL Oni or atleast the spiritual embodiment of it, being that of the Girl who was originally possessed by the blue locusts. The Oni needs no actual spirit as stated before, though this is more like a ‘projection’ of said potential spirit, being much more sensible & able for communication with others. She shares all the same traits as Naoki’s spirit, even a hatred that exceeds his own, though Honoka has the nifty ability to manipulate space itself through sheer psychic power, telekinetically move objects, manipulate dreams like Naoki, & can manifest physical beings (like her fake sister) into reality.

Ghost Army

It’s my army! I got hundreds of Ghosts at my command (at least 2357 soldiers when counting up the total deaths my specimens have inflicted), & we got even more with the Hellgate nearly collapsing… Soon we’ll show everyone how powerful we can be!

Specimen 1 - Cardboard Cutouts

It’s a cardboard cutout, they most commonly give people heart attacks. These guys are my friends!!!

Specimen 2 - Gooper (Slime Monster)

Organic, goop, can change states of matter, and controls people through its goop! Corrupting them entirely, which is probably what happened to the first few victims. I like Goop.

Specimen 3 - Giant Centipede

There's like an infestation of them, ever since they got out of containment they’ve been growing their numbers… they crawl around really fast & they got poisonous stunning bites or smtn… it puts victims to sleep and makes them unable to move once awake.

Specimen 4 - Ringu

Some ghost, it haunts people who aren’t in class on time, making victims into lingering shadow effigies in its school that can harm people on contact. It can fly & phase through walls, absorbs people through consumption & a television set which is used as a part of its body… and also has multiple body parts & can blind you with tv static (no like LITERAL TV STATIC).

Specimen 5 - Bab

I got a cease and desist from Silent Hill because of Bab, so I mailed them a pipe bomb and they shut up, Bab came from some Cult that worshiped it. Bab can make illusions, create flesh, and make after images. Victims of Bab disappear without a trace, no one really knows what happens to them!

Specimen 6 - Ben The Merchant

The Benseter is a Merchant guy who had all his dolls & him tossed in a river, he somehow came back as a doll, it moves only when you're not looking at him, he can turn people into puppets by doing some adjustments to their body & binding their souls.

Specimen 7 - Wall of Flesh & The White Cat

Trauma ig slay queen, the Wall turns into your subconscious trauma & attempts to overrun you… being overrun by it would probably mean you go poof! Especially since it’s a subconscious abstract wave, it’s a literal idea killing you from the subconscious, you’re dead… and a lot of the ‘screens’ inside its domain, imply it absorbs you into this idea of fear (aka stuff like BE PART OF SOMETHING & the cat telling you to not LOSE YOURSELF in the mask you wear). Durability negation, Conceptual manip, Absorption, yadda yadda. The White Cat is like the complete opposite, it gives peeps some pep talks & tries to help you escape your subconscious mind.

Specimen 8 - Deer Lord

Deer lord,

Interjection, it’s Dear Lord, I can manipulate the wills of those around me. When an object comes between me and a target, I can use my dimension to travel to them directly, upon touch I absorb the souls of those who have harmed- warping them into my domain...my children shall persist.

Specimen 9 - T A K E R

Takes THE DEAD people's bodies and adds it to its own mass, it only exists to take the body of those it kills, its like clay or something lol idk its able to change its density at will. It’s also one of the only Specimens capable of completely immobilizing & oneshotting victims! When in its advanced form it can summon pillars of souls, pour blood to obscure your vision, fire… fire balls, conjure shadowy hands, and summon hordes of the DEAD. It gains more mass from the dead it absorbs.

Specimen 10 (OLD) - Worm Eel

Reddit gold wholesome jungus, it's got… teeth! And uh… it’s a pet eel, do you think it can electrocute people, i sure don't LOL.

Specimen 10 - Parasite

Parasitic specimen that takes over a host by entering their body & using parasitic infections, it can change between a fast crawling mode & a slower walk… that's.. that’s all they do ig.

Specimen 11 - Food Demon

Meaty Fire Guy, it’s got a restaurant full of meat, it’s got a maze full of meat, it probably is made of meat. It takes over the minds of people in the vicinity over the course of days, though through constant attacks on a host it can skip this process… & warp you to a meaty dimension where you obey it… (which like yea you disappear it's not only in your mind) it’s also very annoying to kill, capable of regenerating from having its spirit dispersed… it makes finding doors  really hard by making them invisible, kinda stinks sometimes…

Specimen 12 - The Old Man (The Mansion Inside A Mansion)

Like old, I think, maybe 50?, he looks like he's 50, I think idk lol, uiuhmm he's got a sickle. We don’t really know where this thing came from, but the mansion mind controls people, made some weird logan paul blogger dude into its new host (which is implied because he was traveling with the same sickle the current owner uses & the same in this note for Specimen 12 & the CATDOS says it possesses people). Anyways… he’s dumb. (logan paul) into filming dead bodies in a forest (really good idea, go do that irl)

Specimen 13 - Mermaid (Siren)

This is your typical Siren, sings and stuff… it seems really hangry constantly eating animals as big as whales, it attracts prey by singing… (blatantly) drowns them viciously! She's kinda bad tho.

Specimen 14 - The Protagonist

This is the peep who ran through 1000 rooms and 10 elevators, wowsa!!! I think they were just some explorer or smth, they can regenerate for some reason… idk why, can you humans do that?? Also has an Ax ig & can hit ghosts, even after they were splattered in the ‘Good Ending’ it was even capable of regenerating health as a spirit (this is after they die), crazy insurance (and endurance), was able to resist basically every Specimen’s ability like uhhhh Mind Control & Soul shenanigans!

The Brain

The Brain is just some dude’s brain in a container… it’s still alive somehow, can float around… talk to people with telepathy, and kill people on contact.

HOWARD

This dude is super cool,, it's just Specimen 1, but it runs at you (so cool). It also loops rooms infinitely till it feels like letting you leave.

Unknown Specimen 1 - Whiteface

This is a White Face, Hello, how are you? I hope you're doing well, i'm scared and I’m Spooky! (pun) This thing is from another game, sorta just yoinked it. It cannnn mess with data… (aka delete, create, and manipulate information), close game windows… uh… grow, change your position in the game to new areas, break game mechanics, recover deleted files, manipulate time, & IT HAS A FREAKING GUN. You cannot get rid of me, I’ll watch you forever.

Unknown Specimen 2 - Otto the Otter

It was just sorta a joke, it got loose when we tried to dismantle it, Wambu hates it- he just sorta existed. It can scream… really loud… & generate pizza… and apparently that just kills you.

Unknown Specimen 3 - Spooper

Spooper is the GOAT! He’s a mischievous little guy, dressing up like a ghost, what a prankster…! :( It’s almost as funny as what he does to people in his vicinity! After harming Spooper enough, it’ll disperse into a gassy pollen in the air that harms you & stops you from regenerating, it then starts to form a fetus inside your body for you to spit up! Impregnation somehow! And if it kills you… apparently you just trip out!

Unknown Specimen 4 - Tirsiak

Tirsiak issss uhhh… Tirsiak is basically just the Deer Lord again, but she has a cool few thingies! She can summon ethereal animals to block your path, can phase through walls & float, & can take you into her forest dimensional to eat you with her wolves, she’s an anime girl 👍

Unknown Specimen 5 - Lisa

Lisa is a Spirit from P.T. (don’t tell anyone I yoinked her too), she stalks her victims until she eventually shows herself and moves after them partially invisibly. Lisa’s whole deal inside her game & mine… is.. Uh… she can stop you from progressing by looping you spatially forever in a set of rooms or in the more current case, she can stop your ‘counted’ floors traveled.

Monster 1 - Security Guard

Security Guard is a Security Guard working at Karamari Hospital. It slaps you a bunch.

Monster 2 - Body Bag

Specimens (Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion) | Villains Wiki | Fandom

gThe Body Bag is a worm-infested maggot-covered corpse that leeches the vitality of anything it touches, decaying it. Anything that dies inside the bag has its soul fused with the bag.

Monster 3 - Baby Face

ITS OTHER SPRITE TURNS INTO A  croissantit floats into you until you die, which is valid.

Monster 4 - The Hanged Man

Hanged Man was a patient at the Hospital before it tried to hang itself… then it came back after because it was very hungry :P it can sorta go invisible instead of walking, flashing a bunch when you’re looking at it, this thing likes Human Flesh, probs has some mental trauma.

Monster 5 - Ghost Cow

COW, I LOVE COWS. It loves to invade the minds of people in GL Labs, to take them over, corrupt their emotions & mind, and make them FORGET about everything that’s important to them. This can range anywhere from making a doctor remove organs from someone without their own knowledge, make people burst into violent outbursts, forget anything and everything… plus it can possess your body! It’s taken a few days before… though it can be instant if it damages someone enough. The Cow also seems to be stopped by radiation, probably harms their host’s mind too much.

Monster 6 - Bekka

WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT HER. SHE’S SCARY & SHE CAN FLY & TURN INVISIBLE & UH… CAN MANIFEST IN DOORS… AND UH… SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT SEAT TO TAKE ON A FRIDAY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER. Bekka likes Saturday for some reason.

(Skibidi) Carl

Carl lingers in Toilets and screams at people.

Hospital Virus

This thing is weird, sorta just appeared one day in Karamari Hospital, it can decay anything it's attached to and make that stuff a part of it… the entire Hospital is sorta like one big virus. This is how the Security Guard became a Monster.

Wormy Charles

Wormy Charles is really stretchy like one of those stretchmannn toys, Charles likes running around a bunch & tries to headbutt people it likes!!! If it really likes you, it’ll swing at you with its arms and try to stretch you till your skeleton pops out & when it's tuckered out it’ll revert to a smaller doll form.

Husks

Husks are Dolls that have sealed away Spirits inside of them, they are plentiful and have over thirty around doing their own thing… They can disguise themselves as pods and leap out whenever, and when they ‘kill’ you, they can convert you into a whole new Husk by changing your body… with uh… magic! (It’s transmutation)

The Clown

This thing is creepy, it doesn’t really do anything besides follow you when you’re not looking & pose, I don’t think anybody likes it. It just won’t leave… GO AWAY!

.

Hooked Doll

Hooked Doll is a floating Doll that rams into you when you look at it, if you’re not looking it won’t attack you. The Doll can phase through walls & can throw hooks at you to impale you.

Frenzy

Frenzy is like the Granny of the group, it kinda just waddles around, it kills you mentally distorts your image of yourself until you become too weak to go on, then it slices you to ribbons!

W.A.M.

W.A.M. likes music. It doesn’t really like to fight, it’ll just appear whenever music is playing to kinda just hang out.

(??? - 1) The Mattress

The Mattress is sorta like a mimic! It disguises itself as a Mattress before it chases after you, an invisible zombie is sorta just attached to it, so when you’re close enough it’ll try to eat you.

(??? - 2) The Dolphin

Craziest dude I’ve ever seen, made himself into a dolphin, pretty cool. It can bite people & swim in the water, I have no idea how it can breathe.

(??? - 3) Lines

Lines is some sorta War Program disguised as a Video Game, I don’t really care about that kinda stuff… but it can set stuff on fire! It’s capable of taking over technology, crashing it, & setting stuff on fire! They can also maybe possess people idk

(??? - 4) Paina

She's  coming to the game soon idk when, she shoots lasers, fires heart blasts, meaty blood beams, giant eyeballs that shoot projectiles, her game apparently kills anyone who plays it, she can manipulate the game medium she’s in (changing the style)… and uhhh yeah that's it… she’ll probably have some third phase when her game gets finished (it wont).

Military Nightmares

These things sorta just pop into your mind to give you trauma, they can’t be killed, they can’t be stopped, they’ll always keep coming, and they got guns! It was some sorta mental impairment discovered in GL Labs, though not much is known about them…  I'm sorry.

Wambu

MY BEST BUDDY WEMBU

xdimageI am sorry.

Mansion House

Spooky’s Mansion is a vast structure full of thousands upon thousands of rooms that are different in size, theme, and location. You may be wondering what that means… but believe us, it’s VERY LITERAL, the Mansion is constantly shifting around spatially, changing the locations of rooms in ways that shouldn’t make sense. On Top of the fact that Spooky’s Mansion has been projected and simulated to have over 100 thousand rooms, it’s been showcased multiple times that it's really INFINITE in size. The Mansion’s Endless Mode literally describes it as ‘infinity’, normal mode calls it endless dozens of times, a person who died in the mansion compared it to an infinite kingdom, and rooms like the Dormitory Wing has an infinite amount of infinite hallways (yes it's literally a hallway that leads to other different hallways forever, to get back you need to go back AS MANY hallways as you traversed- which is as you’d imagine- infinite)... it's a big house.

Sickle

The Mansion has a host of weapons, though one of the more notable ones is a Sickle that was found inside the forest area.

Webbing

The Webbing in the mansion can completely slow down your movement and stop you from progressing until you break it with a weapon.

Wrench

Spooky’s been showcased in multiple advertisement materials to have a Wrench that she presumably used to help construct the game… like a CHAMP!

Scythe

Spooky loves to dress up, but for some reason she has a real Scythe; that seems pretty dangerous, someone please take it away from her.

Minigun

Spooky’s way of showing love to her adoring fans, is to unload dozens of bullets into them with her patented minigun!

Knife

This is Spooky’s most iconic piece of equipment, an exceptionally large Knife that is showcased in tons of advertisements.

Axes

Within a Forest inside the mansion lies an Axe that is stuck to a tree, it’s capable of stunning and damaging most entities. Spooky also just seems to carry around an axe.

I-Pad

I-Pad my beloved, Spooky uses it to do tech things! Like looking up stuff, free unrestricted internet access (in a place with no WIFI), yipee!

Sword & Armor

Spooky has depicted herself with armor and the sword from Karamari Hospital, the sword has been shown to oneshot enemies that the axe cannot; plus her armor is presumably good at taking hits for her.

Salad

It’s a salad. How do ghosts eat?

Pen

She stole someone's Pen, not very romantic. 🙁

Hospital Chair (Scare Chair)

The Hospital Chair is a form of comfort (obviously), you can sit down and relax in it… though it’s not advised. Anyone who sits in the chair will leave behind a shadowy effigy and if you attempt to sit in the chair once more by destroying this effigy, you’ll be sent to an otherworldly Wasteland.

Sunshine Academy

The Sunshine Academy game is a Dating Sim within Karamari Hospital where you pursue a love interest & eventually end up killing them. Eventually this date dies & gets erased from the simulation, it's hinted that this ‘simulation’ is sentient and capable of change much like us humans.

Car

Spooky has a bunch of Arcade Games themed around her in the Mansion, it makes enough sense to consider that they are well within her own capabilities- y’know… since it’s literally games about her. If we take this completely literally it means she has a Car that can travel around 120 MPH.

Cross

The Cross is a signifier for ‘Safe Rooms’ which entities can’t enter most likely due to ‘Banishment’ which prevents any hostiles from entering due to holy shenanigans.

Hellgate

The Hellgate is the portal between Hell & Earth, it's essentially a portal seal that stops the two worlds from bleeding into each other. In the bad ending of the game, all the souls of hell flood into the world to attack & ‘doom’ it (aka Millions of Souls for Spooky’s Army & that’s just assuming 1% of Earth’s Population is in hell).

Abilities

Ao Oni

Enhanced Senses

The Oni’s senses are extremely sharp, it has thermal vision capable of picking up heat signatures from far away (people are practically lit up like Christmas Trees when it looks at them). He’s been able to hear people multiple rooms over (as well as the sound of their heartbeat) & has been able to smell and track someone through the scent in the air, scent of urine, & scent of blood (no, I’m serious). Once Takuro and Takeshi became Onis, they were capable of precisely locating a sound on a separate floor dozens of rooms away; the main Oni could even hear your heartbeat. On Top of this, once the Oni absorbed Anna’s body it became capable of seeing invisible enemies.

Stealth / Teleportation

The Oni is exceptionally good at sneaking up on people, it’s managed to mask its presence to a point where if it wants to it makes no sound; which in turn fooled Mika (as seen above). Though more than that, the Oni has the ability to teleport, this seems pretty explicit. When the Oni’s ‘song’ ends during a chase, it just sorta poofs, even if you leave him in a room with no exits other than ones you can see, it’ll manage to get away (notice the only other exit is locked)... there’s also stuff like this, this, and the South Park Oni stuff. There’s always examples of Onis like Hikakin teleporting between two places; plus in Ao Oni Absolute Fear the Oni can warp into rooms you’re inside.

Mimicry / Bio Manipulation / Power Copying

The Oni is very crafty, after doing some research on Shun’s laptop it searched up a separate species which had the ability to mimic others… and got to work on something similar. The Oni can mimic the voice of just about anyone (even people it hasn’t met), though after it consumes some of your DNA is when the real fun begins. It can transform into the person it has consumed the DNA of, this gives the Oni all of the memories of the person (alongside their personality and consciousness), their resistances, their abilities, and gave it all the items and equipment they had on-hand. Though it’s much more complicated than that, the Oni very clearly has full control over its own biology; capable of changing its size to shrink itself (going frame by frame makes this really clear), it can grow to climb building walls, grow as big as a Mansion or a House, and even a ENTIRE multi-story complexes! It has also been shown capable of stretching and reshaping its body to anything it can picture inside its mind, the only tradeoff being that their pupils don’t dilate so it's not the most convincing disguise once you see past this trick.

Tech Manipulation / Information Manipulation

The Oni learned quite a few tech tips from Shun’s Tablet, and overnight he became a pretty good programmer. As seen above he was capable of manifesting within Takuro’s Laptop (which was outside the game app), distorted, hacked, glitched, and shut down his laptop. He’s been able to call multiple people simultaneously to play his chase theme, while they were out of signal range (which also prevented them from calling for help), deactivated a stream, and disabled the use of phone apps; though he’s done much more than that. After one night of studying Shun’s coding on a tablet, he was able to understand programming and begun to make changes to his code; in the novel the game and reality are linked (altering code on Shun’s Laptop, literally manifested and changed stuff in reality- everyone who goes inside becomes a part of the code) the Oni literally manifested new areas of its Mansion into reality by altering Shun’s code itself… he’s even transmuted matter- though it’s very important to state that this code also contained stuff like the ‘endings’ to the plot of Shun’s story… so it’s very likely that the Oni or Naoki can even control the plot of their own story through this process. The game mechanics in Ao Oni are pretty literal, Shun knew he could stop time by pausing the game & the Oni eventually became capable of instilling bugs in the code to the point that it could completely destroy the ‘loading mechanic’ (ruh roh Frisk bros) & froze Takuro’s computer eventually shutting it off itself.

Limb Manifestation

The Oni has been showcased to sprout arms out of its mouth, as an extension of itself that it can use to pull in victims (whoa guys its Sonic EXE!!!)

Pyrokinesis

The Oni can set fire to candles, oooooh SPOOKY! The Oni has also been shown capable of igniting their claws for ‘fiery’ slashes.

Gravity Manipulation

The Oni when it was metamorphosing in a cocoon was capable of producing ‘Gravitational Waves’.

Sound Manipulation

The Oni when enraged is capable of letting out ‘supersonic’ high-pitched waves, which as you could imagine when taken at face value would basically shatter your eardrums.

Fear Manipulation

The Oni and its mansion are also capable of manifesting a very terrifying aura that tends to unnerve anyone that is inside; it’s very likely due to its spiritual presence. Upon seeing the Monster many were sent into ‘fear’ shocks, which caused severe nausea and vomiting just thinking about its appearance; it’s gotten to the point where survivors even experience some form of PTSD. Hiroshi literally described the Monster as more horrible than any human-made tragedy, abomination, or natural disaster; the Monster’s fear aura is so overwhelming that Shinichi’s emotions literally broke- in person with the Monster, this fear is so overwhelming that most are unable to even move their limbs. People who have been in ‘contact’ with the Oni experienced illusory images like being stuck in locked rooms during work & their environment warping around them.

Stat Amplification

The Oni has the fascinating capability of being able to amp its own stats, in the original game he was capable of becoming so fast he blitzed the Protagonist; though in Ao Oni Online at the very least the Oni increased their stats over 1000-55000 increments (these increments reach over 550,000 x their original stats; aka a 550,000 x stat amp on all stats), though it could probably go even higher! The game mode is based on and taken from Legend of Slime: Idle RPG War, which uses the same letter based system, and in that game ranking is shown to go all the way from A-Z and BEYOND to literal dual-jointed letters (which would be the high-ball for the amp)… now obviously we don’t want to rely on this given we only have footage FOR the other game getting that high, there’s no footage of that in Online as it’d take months to literal years… but if we take what we’ve seen in Online (A-F ranks) COMPLETELY literally the Oni would be able to hypothetically become 200 Quintillion x its original stats (which is fucking crazy). The stats it can amp are its attack, speed, stamina (defense/health), its probability of landing attacks- as well as increased crit damage. The Oni has also been known to increase in stats by absorbing other Onis.

Immersion

This one is pretty simple, the Oni can pretty easily just merge with fiction whenever it fancies. It has become a part of a Tetris game, entered a literal drawing world, managed to manifest within ‘circuits’ in what seems to be a digital world as an 8-bit Monster, & even been seen entering and exiting the fictional medium (as seen above).

Telekinesis

Ao for no apparent reason just has the inexplicable ability to use telekinesis, it used it most commonly to open and keep doors shut… though it has also used it to fling people around in the second movie and rip their heads right off their body in the anime. POP!

Sleep Manipulation

Ao Oni has the ability to play his theme song by shrieking at a certain intensity, this song is apparently so soothing that it can put others to sleep upon hearing it. Outside of that in Ao Oni 2, everyone who entered the Oni’s domain fell unconscious instantly.

Creation / Existence Erasure

The Oni was capable of manifesting a bunch of crayon coloring all around a room & manifested Tetris-themed variants of itself into reality, before promptly making them ‘disappear’. Given the nature of video games and Tetris in general, it's much more likely the Oni just POOFED them from existence similar to the real game (code-wise) rather than sending them faraway via something like BFR.

N.P.I. (Non-Physical Interaction)

This one is pretty simple, the Oni was capable of ragdolling Shun in the events of the first novel; who in the story was quite literally a ghost at the time. The Oni can also kill ghost characters in Ao Oni Online, ghosts like Hanako, gas-based entities, & Sadako- (yeah from the Ring, that happened).

Duplication

The Oni is known for the process of Mitosis and can divide itself, popping off parts of its body and turning it into hordes of enemies; effectively being able to create armies out of himself whenever needed (like literally all the main cast is above). This is best seen with the ‘locusts’ that created the Onis, when splashed with water they can multiply into the thousands.

Absorption / Atom Manipulation

This one is pretty simple, the Oni was capable of absorbing hordes of individuals (and was used to absorb an entire lab facility) on a Atomic/Quantum level (aka sub-atomic), it can use this absorbed mass in order to evolve through a metamorphosis. It's pretty consistent and can even do this in Ao Oni Online, with other Onis, in order to get power boosts.

Mind Manipulation

The Oni Virus was capable of making a victim mentally impaired, decreasing their mental age, and lessening their ability to use their cognitive functions. The Oni was also capable of causing people illusions from being in its proximity.

Sealing

The Oni’s mansion itself functions pretty weirdly, being linked to that of the game- so once you’re inside you literally get BFR’d into the fictional realm of the game. You’re incapable of leaving until you escape legitimately and win- or manage to find a glitch to get your way out.

Earth Manipulation

The ‘Oni Attack’ spell has the Oni thrust his arm forward to command the earth itself to tear open and ripple towards enemies, dealing damage.

Time Stopping

The ‘Freeze Time’ spell does exactly as it states; contact with an opponent will freeze them in time  temporarily for a few turns (note the clock icon that appears on characters).

Poison Manipulation

The ‘Toxic Hell’ spell sends an earth-rippling area of effect (AOE) towards the opponent which will poison them if hit. The Oni also has a more devastating poison ability in Ao Oni Online, where passively poison gas will spread across the entire field till no tiles are left (it's literally the fortnite storm). This poison is so effective that it can kill inanimate objects like tanks, constellations, glass cups, trumpets, and more (which clearly don’t have the ability to breathe).

Paralysis Inducement

The ‘Oni Stun’ spell can stun opponents and make them lose their turn due to the inability to move, giving the Oni multiple attempts at attacking.

Soul Erasure / Soul Removal / Soul Manipulation

The Oni is quite experienced at manipulating the souls of his victims, like- it might be one of his most used abilities. The Oni is able to tether souls to his Mansion, Shun couldn’t leave much like everyone else despite being a Spirit. The Virus Process that happens when an Oni infects you is even more devastating to your soul, on death not only is your soul ejected from your original body (as seen above), though it can do the opposite and stop souls from leaving. Though if your soul was forced OR MANAGED to stay inside, it would eventually just overwrite & fade away into nothingness. The Mansion itself also seems to have a weird effect on Souls, when Shun himself realized he was a soul; all the damage inflicted on his real body was redirected onto his Spirit… which caused his very soul to bleed. The Virus was capable of controlling a person's consciousness and taking full control over it, this in itself would be considered a type of possession.

Oni Physiology (Regeneration/Immortality)

This is sort of a given, but across all stories, the Oni has been described with an incredibly vast and detailed physiology. The Oni is slimy, coated in mucus that makes it hard to grip, and emits a smell that can make most people vomit. Where did the Oni come from, you may ask? The Oni was summoned to the world by a far-off god named the Messiah; the Oni hadn't existed before that point and was an imaginary creature, a folktale. The Oni is manifested by the Messiah as a messenger whenever someone attempts to partake in a ritual; before that, the Messiah keeps it in a state of non-existence before whisking it away to where it's needed. This means that the Oni doesn’t have a ‘true form’ and can be continually manifested whenever the Messiah requires it (given it needs to be rebirthed each time). Ontop of this, it's been explained by Shun himself that due to how the game reality & real reality are linked; the Oni would be as well, to actually even have a shot at killing him you’d need to destroy EVERY copy of Ao Oni on the internet.

This makes sense, the Oni is really REALLY tough; it can have its eyes gouged out, be plunged into acid, fall several stories, or be reduced to nothing but bones... but it doesn't matter. Due to the Oni’s ‘non-existent’ aspect, it can be brought back even if reduced to nothingness (as long as the god presumably still exists). Beyond that, the Oni eventually grew so powerful through the spread of myths and rumors that it gained the ability to manifest on its own as long as people remember its rumors or the Oni itself, which, as you can imagine, makes it incredibly difficult to kill.

Curse Manipulation / Wish Granting / Darkness Manipulation

The Oni’s main gimmick across the Novels & Manga is that it's the Messiah’s messenger. Anyone who commits one of their rituals can have their wish granted at the cost of a sacrifice, given the Oni themself is the one granting these wishes (like condemning people to death), it makes enough sense to say that it can grant its own wishes too; as of now it’s been used to wish people would die, come back to life, send them somewhere else, or erase them entirely. The Oni upon manifesting into the world to grant your wishes, becomes capable of always tracking you via your shadow; to the point that it can control your shadow itself and attack. In Death end;reQuest 2 the Oni can use the ‘Wave Of Darkness’ spell, which casts a dark-based shockwave to hit foes all around the Oni.

Jailhouse Curse

The Jailhouse Curse is an extremely weird ability that the Oni has, essentially the 'game' is reloaded upon completing it; like- duh... he's a game character everyone can just keep coming back even if dead (similar to restarting a playthrough of a game). Though the Oni uses this to his advantage, if anyone escapes his Mansion or Glitches out of it then the laws of the universe displace time backwards to some time before these individuals went inside (with only those who escaped able to keep this memories)... the Oni will keep doing this until the characters eventually ALL die within the mansion on their next visit… the monster can both do this loop indefinitely (it’s literally stated to be an infinite loop by WOG) or choose to stop it whenever it wants; this is VERY clearly shown in the movie. This is consistent between the movies and the novels, you’d effectively have to self-bfr yourself and NOT go in the mansion in order to escape the loop (or negate time reversal). Though even that’s up for debate, because when a Teacher ‘escaped’ she fell unconscious and awoke in the very next game with no recollection of the previous one. Escaping in itself is going to be hard, because once inside the Jailhouse, you are in ‘unreality’, you are in the fictional manifested reality of the game.

Fate Manipulation

This one is pretty straight forward, this is a byproduct of Shun’s game being linked to reality. Whenever someone enters the Mansion they become new ‘side characters’ (who are programmed into the game) and due to no one besides the MAIN character being able to escape, these ‘side cast’ members are fated to die at the hands of the Oni; even if they somehow managed to avoid their death temporarily, Fate will always steer back on course and force them into a scenario where they’ll die. This fate is also likely the reason for why even when the Oni’s awakening was halted via time traveling to the past, in the present it became free due to seemingly ‘sheer luck’.

Self Sustenance

As it turns out, the Monsters don’t really NEED to eat or drink, they just sorta hate humans. After Takeshi as an Oni had stopped eating for a few weeks, he lost the desire for consumption of either all together. The Onis also seemingly don’t need to breathe. In Death end re;Quest, inside the "Oni Area," there is an obstacle course with a built-in timer where you have to outrun a bunch of Onis and make it to the end; prior to this, the Onis are all patiently waiting underwater without a care in the world. They will stay there until you pass a certain point; this reasonably suggests they don’t really need to breathe… which would make sense given Onis are fine in space levels in Ao Oni Online.

Spooky

Ghost Physiology

Spooky being an incorporeal ghost comes with quite a few perks. For one it allows her to fly unrestrictedly through the air and traverse her mansion; though more importantly it lets her phase through most conventional objects, allowing her to pass through walls and such.

Illusions

Spooky’s Mansion was capable of manifesting illusions that could literally hurt you after multiple days of exposure to the mansion… and were likely the cause of the victim’s ‘heart palpitations’.

Tech Manipulation

It’s specified that technology does not work inside the Mansion, nor does wi-fi signals reach inside. Spooky has also been showcased capable of crashing technology like her arcade machines with errors.

Gravity Manipulation

It’s been showcased that the Mansion has some really weird sense of Gravity going on, with some rooms having VARYING gravity & others having stuff literally float like it’s in zero gravity.

Telekinesis

If you buy using the Arcade Games, Spooky has been showcased the ability to throw around massive giant nails with some form of telekinesis.

Stat Amplification

Assuming we take the Arcade Games as 100% legitimate, considering they’re based on Spooky herself… it’d mean that every kill Spooky gets makes her faster!

Creation

Spooky has been shown to be capable of creating things out of thin-air, though she’s only really used it to make present boxes.

Stamina Reduction

At one point Spooky offers you ‘INFINITE STAMINA’, yeah… it’s infinite- it won’t run out… the problem is you LITERALLY can’t use it. It limits your ability to move by literally disabling your ability to use your stamina gauge (it makes it a real hassle to move around).

Spatial Manipulation / Time Manipulation / Data Manipulation

Spooky managed to set up the door in such a way that it literally undid the floors you went through; let me repeat that: SPECIFICALLY the room total undid itself. In other words, you never went through those rooms to begin with and were taken back a few hundred floors beforehand. If taken literally, this means that time was rewound; and later, time is forwarded to the correct floor… which was only done through a data overflow / error in the game’s code, at the very least it's likely Spooky changed the game’s data.

Sealing

In the context of the Doll House DLC, it was explained to us that the Mansion itself can be used to tether and seal away Spirits inside of it. This is what we see during the ‘generic’ death screen variant of the game where you ‘your soul wanders an endless maze’… you couldn’t get out then, and you couldn’t now. This is further backed up by the plot of the DLC where your goal is to break the seal on the mansion, which inturn releases all of the Spirits during the Bad Ending.

Resistances

Ao Oni

Fire / Oxygen Deprivation - In Ao Oni 3 the Oni is perfectly fine being inside a burning house with no ill consequences, despite how Fire to that degree would make it hard to even breathe (which is consistent with how it doesn’t need air while completely frozen) & burn him severely. Onis like Squatto are capable of standing in LITERAL magma with no ill effects. Ao has also been set on fire with Lighter Fluid in the Anime.

Blindness - The Oni was literally capable of fighting and tracking down Naoki & the others while the Oni was literally blinded, its eyes were gouged out and it could still ‘see’ just fine.

Electricity - Was capable of holding Takeshi while he was shivering which caused the Oni no harm, Takeshi’s shivering was currently powering an entire Power Company at the time with static electricity (yes, BY SHIVERING).

Ice - The Oni’s have consistently shown that SOMEHOW even when they are completely frozen solid- they can STILL move and think. In Ao Oni 3 it was capable of undoing its frozen state.

Soul - In the anime after the deaths of Takuro, Hiroshi, Mika, & Takeshi, their souls were ejected from their bodies and new Onis were still capable of persisting without them. Not affected by the attacks of ‘Buggies’ which are said to be capable of destroying your soul.

Poison - They suffer no penalties for being inside their own Poison Gas in Ao Oni Online, unlike the Survivors who die after around 20 seconds of inhalation (unlike the Oni who has no timer).

Sleep - The Oni when metamorphosing in a cocoon was incapable of being put to sleep by sedatives, the body systematically eradicated any attempts at putting it to sleep.

Possession - Naoki was capable of fighting off the spirit of Honoka inside the Oni trying to possess their body for an incredibly long time, when this ghost DELETED his consciousness to prevent him from fighting back; Naoki literally REMANIFESTED his consciousness from within to keep fighting it off.

Absorption - When someone infected by the Oni virus touched a cocoon known for absorbing people, the subject was completely fine and didn’t disappear.

Time Manipulation - No one was capable of turning back or manipulating time normally without special ‘admin’ permissions inside the game, any attempts otherwise were unsuccessful.

Information Manipulation - Ao Oni is a game character who manifested in the real world (with its data still linked to his game self), his Creator while trying to alter the code of the game was passively stopped by the Oni from making any alteration to its own, the mansion, or the game’s code (it’s very clearly shown to us that Shun is coding on the side, yet can’t do anything).

Existence Erasure - When the reality and the game were linked, Shun made note of the fact that even if he did somehow manage to delete the Oni in his code, he had a gut feeling that it wouldn’t get rid of him (due to how wide-spread he was & how he can manifest from rumors and knowledge of him); which obviously holds a lot of weight as his ‘creator’.

Mind Manipulation (Mind Control, Memory Erasure, Memory Manipulation) - After Naoki’s loop to when the entire manga was retconned and reversed and everyone lost their memories, the spirit of the Oni appeared and very blatantly made it clear that it still remembered everything that happened. In the animated movie, the Oni’s body transformed through the usage of the Bellflower, which can erase or alter memories & control the minds of others into becoming infatuated with the flower; the Oni is derived from the very flower itself so it would make no real sense to say it doesn’t resist the effects of it (Hallow has a really good explanation right here).

Plot Manipulation - Despite the Plot of the game dictating that it should be a Game Over and thus end if Hiroshi were to die, the Oni kinda just ignored this and kept on going- even Shun made note of how weird it was (to be clear the entire point of the movie is that the game & Oni are linked together, he literally follows game mechanics; yet was unaffected by the ‘game over’ element of the game).

Spatial - The ‘Fourth Dimension’ Oni has the same biology as a normal Oni (obviously), this Oni lives in a distorted part of Space that follows it wherever it goes, despite this it is not stretched into indefinitely long strands & does not rip apart the Oni’s sub-atomic particles or atoms (which it really should have); meaning it should resist Spatial Tearing due to containing this ‘spatial rend’ of its physiology… this Oni has even showcased it can still fight the same despite the hinderance (in Ao Oni Online).

Transmutation / Petrification - Can undo the effects of petrification in Ao Oni 2 in a scene where the Oni is made of stone. Since he was made out of inanimate Rock and still able to control his Bio-Structure, it implies that even if he was turned into an inanimate object he could turn back to normal (given his full control over his body structure, size, and shape). There’s also the fact that in the anime, the Onis were fine inside their ‘Closet’ which has been very clearly shown to transform anyone inside. The Bellflower Pollen is running through the Oni’s system which is passively regulating its form, it's why in the Animated Movie the Oni mutated into one in the first place; plus the Oni has been said to be capable of altering its own cell structure; though in Absolute Fear it has control over its atoms on a quantum level.

Corruption - The Oni isn’t affected by ‘Bugs’ on the battlefield of Death end re;Quest during combat, which tend to ‘glitch’ the user and change them into ‘Glitch Mode’ (Glitch Mode is pretty explicitly a corruption of their physiology that changes them).

Spooky

Banishment (Holy Manipulation) - Unlike Spooky’s spirits who are incapable of being inside the safe rooms due to the ‘Holy Crosses’ that are found within (like they’ll literally disappear incapable of chasing you into these cross saferooms); Spooky has no problem at all popping in whenever.

Possible Sealing - Considering the fact that most souls/spirits bound inside the mansion are stuck and can not take form its likely that Spooky being unrestricted, makes her capable of resisting soul sealment, as she simply ignores the properties of the mansion.

Possible Existence Erasure - Upon disabling Specimens & Jump Scares from the game via a toggle in the menu, all Specimens will be erased and removed from the Mansion. This effect does not get rid of Specimen 9, plus Spooky isn’t affected… despite how she should be considered a Specimen; given the lore implications of her essentially being her Father’s life's work when it came to tracking down Specimen.

Scaling

Ao Oni

The Humans

This is pretty simple, the Oni is always portrayed above the human cast members in EVERY SINGLE CANON; it doesn’t matter where you look, it's always shown the monster is stronger, more durable, and faster.

Onis

The Onis are all the same person as discussed in the novel, they literally pop off of the Oni’s body and are very clearly an extension of it… but even in canons where that isn’t the case, the Oni is shown to be comparable.

Death end re;Quest

In the context of Re;quest 2's story, the Oni was literally the strongest boss in the entire game. It took the entire Death End re;Quest cast jumping the Oni at the same time to even stand a chance; even after hitting him for fucking 40 MINUTES straight, they could barely hurt him. It’s pretty safe to say that, given how much punishment it can take, how easily the Oni can harm them, and how the cast and Oni can dodge each other’s attacks & keep up with one another, they all scale to each other. The second game has the Protagonists from the first game (like Data Shion who is the original protagonist of the first game and her original party members) as playable characters alongside the new ones and all casts are betrayed as equal; meaning the Oni can scale to all three games (as they show up in all three).

Spooky

(Entity Stats Scaling + Whiteface)

Spooky has no real scaling chains, as she is very hands-off. This essentially means that, instead of directly scaling Spooky to her own entities, all of her entities should scale to each other via the Player (well- besides White Face… though their stuff will be mentioned as this is a Entity section, Spooky doesn’t really scale anyone either). There’s no clear way to directly scale Spooky without making assumptions. However, if we assume she’s involved with capturing all the Entities, there are arguments that could be made (we don’t think she scales, but if you want args- bada boom there you go).

Weaknesses

Ao Oni

The Ao Oni has a few notable weaknesses: the fact that it really likes to play with its prey; it seems to enjoy teasing people almost as much as eating them, often letting them escape. Its playful demeanor has literally gotten to the point where it’ll follow the rules of its OWN game (as opposed to doing things that would go against the game's code, like jumping railings). It plays very fair when it comes to its victims, on top of that its unbalanced body structure makes it easy to trip Looney Tunes style. Though as for ACTUAL weaknesses, the Oni hates ultra-violet light (it doesn’t really hurt it, but it’d rather not even touch it if it can help it), EM waves can give hosts mental instabilities, gravity waves force the Oni to shrink smaller, it can find it hard to maintain transformations when angry, and it’s primary weakness is that anything 'Holy' is a direct counter to it—i.e., things that directly ward against EVIL will fend it off. And if by off-chance you summoned it as opposed to running into it, if you destroy the summoning doll that brought it into the world, you could send it back whence it came. The Oni through extremely intense gravity can have its ‘cocoon’ like state activated, which traps it inside an absorbing ball temporarily (this orb absorbs others on contact, though he becomes immobile).

Spooky

Spooky has a pretty glaring weakness- she’s not really in command of the Specimens in the Mansion, as she just lets them roam around without much interference (though they are besties with her). Another weakness is that destroying her Mansion (her tether to the world) would essentially just send her back to Heaven with no ways of getting back. Lastly, due to her still being a literal child, she can be dumb AF sometimes. She is also not at all scared of Rebecca Black.

Before the Verdict

Immeasurable Speed Fuwatti

FUWATTI MY BELOVED. There are a lot of things to talk about when it comes to this feat, because there’s quite a bit of context beforehand that people may think debunks the feat… so we’re gonna cover it. The basic gist of the feat is that in the anime there’s an episode where the cast finds a mysterious button, after pressing it everyone is sped up including the Monsters to inhuman speeds. Deciding they wanted to test their speeds, they try to race each other, and every single one of them crashes into the wall inevitably. Fuwatti however hadn’t run yet and with the cheers from the main cast he gets SO motivated that he runs ahead so fast that he goes back in time. Though there’s quite a lot more to it to bring up, because there’s a LOT of factors that make this valid for scaling. Be sure to read ALL of it, we cover all perspectives on the argument, so read ALL of our points- soloing in on one particular section will make the rest unclear and less cohesive in terms of understanding it.

1: First off is the obvious, we do agree that the button itself IS AN AMP… but nothing is expressly telling us that the button is some sort of ‘infinite’ amp, all it did was amplify everyone’s speed vaguely. If we go by this logic for our first approach and say the button is a ‘finite amp’ it’s clear the cast was always pretty on par with each other, Fuwatti was only ever marginally faster than the Oni (as seen in their daily workout routines)... so it makes no sense to say that he is upscaling the cast so far in speed that no one scales to him. If we go by the opposite approach and say that the button is an infinite amp- that leads us to our second piece of evidence below…

2: Hiroshi & Takuro while under the effects of the same button was capable of turning and reacting in time to avoid hitting a wall (they were gulped up by the Oni, but prior to that he explicitly turned in time to stop himself… and could very clearly see the approaching wall while moving at those speeds). So no matter what they’d have to scale to reaction speed, which is backed up by how Mika mentions Fuwatti went back in time to begin with; indicating she very clearly saw what happened. Now as mentioned before it only ever increased their movement speed, meaning if we took this literally it’d be immeasurable reaction speed… but even better is what happens in the third factor.

3: The cast has blitzed Fuwatti before, Mika was literally able to react to and move in tandem with Fuwatti mid motion right after he tried jumping out of a closet; plus the Onis in the same episode literally OUTRUN Fuwatti when they thought they were in danger and were running for their lives (even Fuwatti was running scared, the other Onis just SOMEHOW were faster).

The Oni himself has also blitzed the cast (in the first episode memory recollections, the tetris episode (he blitzes Hiroshi who is blatantly implied to be the fastest in perception), the opening when he appears (he hops in front of them before they react), in the wardrobe episode where he killed everyone before they ever noticed, in the shower episode he literally jumped in front of everyone before they could react):

Like looking at it closely, it’s very clear no one noticed the Oni as it jumped in front of them; then they have a VERY visibly reaction as they turn around AFTER noticing him (there is no moment where they go ‘HUH’, it’s just pure silence before they notice), so it’s very reasonable to say that the Ao Oni or the Humans at the very least would scale to each other in reaction & movement speed… there’s like way too much going for it no matter the interpretation… and given there’s no mention of Rela/FTL statements in the verse to signify that’s the speed for time travel, this would classify as an Immeasurable speed feat that everyone can scale.

Problems With Ao Oni Online Scaling

Ao Oni Online is perfectly fine to reference, given its direct content for the Oni and its story about traveling the multiverse. The real issue arises when trying to scale him to other franchises. While the Oni's canon is loose, it still exists, and treating it as nonexistent obviously isn’t a fair or accurate portrayal of the Oni (it’s a legitimate copout, it’s just stretching for higher stats). None of the characters that appear have a clear point in their own stories where they could leave suddenly (which makes it weird to begin with), their worlds, settings, and plot, are very different from the Oni as well… which really makes for a weird inclusion given its outside the original intent of its own story. This isn't like Death End Re;Quest 2, where the Oni ITSELF integrates into their story and plays an actual role in the form of a story event + boss fight… (plus has consistently been a data being/creature before across multiple media) these crossover appearances in Online are COMING to the Onis world rather than vise-versa (which makes it instantly less valid for scaling over something like Re;quest).

The Ao Oni Online crossovers itself are, of course, trademarked—obviously, it’s a crossover—but there's no reason to believe these characters are their true versions. Even if, somehow, they were—despite how impossible that would be with their original plots and settings—there’s no clear way to pinpoint what point in their stories they arrived from. This creates a huge problem because all of these characters start with their ‘basic designs’ from their respective series, meaning EVEN IF we used the scaling these are the versions of themselves that are incredibly weak and nearly featless (beginning of series, before they got strong or fast enough to perform their feats). There are exceptions, sure, but that removes the top-tier characters (like Naofumi) from the equation immediately due to stuff like exponential growth between a TON of these Isekai Reps.

And it doesn’t stop there—most of these characters are just skins (lol)… Sadako is the one major exception (as she has a boss fight), but even then, no character here acknowledges the events of Online in their own canon. It makes no sense to claim this is canon to their original stories or feats since nothing suggests that these events ever happened. It’d make more sense if the same characters appeared in Ao Oni consistently over and over again. In terms of a USABLE crossover, crossovers like Jimmy Neutron and Timmy Turner (Jimmy Timmy Power Hour) has been acknowledged by their creators as canon, and it’s happened repeatedly, making it undeniable for scaling. But here? There’s nothing solid to suggest scaling the Oni to these characters.

Maybe one day we’ll get the fabled "Sadako fought Ao Oni" statement from the ORIGINAL series creators, but until then, this ‘cross-scaling’ is nothing more than speculation.

Ringu Controls TV Static

This feat is relatively simple to bring up; though, this needs to be clarified, as I haven't really seen this used as a feat before. Ringu, during Endless Mode and the Doll House DLC, has the capability of transforming into a newer form, which can control static electricity (like you'd see on a TV screen). This makes sense, as she is based on the girl from The Ring, who was synonymous with TVs (and this version literally comes out of a TV in her death screen). This is not an illusion or ever implied to be; Ringu has never showcased such an ability (the closest thing being the spirits appearing in her school, though not only is that location specific and never brought up again, but it serves just as a signifier to show the spirits are still around; it was never implied to be her doing). This means the static feat in this case should be real.

Now, obviously, the big elephant in the room is: how would this feat even work? Well, Spooky's World is implied to be a "virtual" simulation, given that Whiteface appears in it (in the Endless Mode simulation) and the actual world after it kills you. This fact is pretty blatantly shown to us throughout the game, but most blatantly at the end of the game, by showing it's a simulation once more—why is this important, you ask? Well, TV static is the physical representation of EM waves; for the static to even appear VISIBLY in mid-air (without a screen or the close unison of an electric conductor), it would mean that it itself would HAVE to be either the "EM waves", signals (like radio-waves), or light photons, that the simulation is picking up… as the static is fundamentally caused by the presence of all of these factors (and with no ‘edge’ borders like a TV screen it would move continuously until it hits the edge in an ‘instant’ due to the nature of TVs)... if for some reason you don’t buy that however, at bare minimum, it’s static electricity moving through a electric-based medium which makes it relativistic in nature.

Obviously, static cannot appear in mid-air; though, given it does, it would mean that the very appearance of it and its spread are comparable to that of electricity found inside a wire (around 95-99% the speed of light)—which makes sense, given Spooky's World is virtual. It’s hard to tell in the original game, though in the HD Renovation, we can very clearly see that the wall of particles are moving to try and catch up with you… giving Ringu controls these ‘particles’ they’d be marked as Attack Speed (not movement speed). The Player however can briefly outrun it, obviously this means that the Player themself isn’t SOL, though somewhere in the Relativistic Speed spectrum, since they’d have to be comparable to even pull that off.

Universal Specimen 8

Now this might be a lot to take in, but there’s actually quite a bit of information we can use from Specimen 8’s backstory, to argue that he’s at the very least downscaling from Universal. Specimen 8 was originally starving alongside his family, until he started praying to a god named Bayagototh (he mentions this god IN SPOOKY'S Dollhouse DLC & he reappears in Lost in Vivo which already has a ton of Spooky’s references, so yeah this checks out). His Death Screen and such really go into this in detail (and lore-wise has been really nicely explained here), essentially Bayagototh at the cost of Specimen 8’s original life, transformed them into a Demi-God who had its own dimension. Bayagototh when it unleashed its power onto the world was capable of turning the world into a 'a broken...distorted inverted reality', for context in this ending… this IS the real world (you exit the exact same way, it has the exact same road as the start, etc.), it’s just now its completely altered to the point where the protagonist thinks it might even be a different place, a HELL- it even specifies the ‘plane’ (dimension) itself was changed. Now given the Deer Lord is literally being empowered by this God to achieve its form, you could argue room for somewhat scaling (but I’ve never found simply being created by something meaning you scale it to be solid reasoning)… though luckily there’s a bit more to back it up so just consider this supporting evidence. In Lost in Vivo there is a point where random ass followers of Bayagototh were capable of taking hits from the Protagonist, the same Protagonist who was capable of killing one of Bayagototh’s avatars. No matter how you slice it, the lore just sorta backs up the idea of Specimen 8 at the very least downscaling (especially over random follower jobbers). Though that begs the question, does anyone else scale you may be wondering? And uh… I mean kinda? Not directly, but other Specimens should scale to 8’s damage output, given they all deal relatively similar damage to the Player character- it's really a case of if you consider it an outlier for the others, because in 8’s case it's backed up by lore. This would mean that Specimen 8 at minimum is downscaling Uni, though there is potentially more you CAN do with it- for example every single one of his ‘children’ is a RING (presumably of Hell- the symbolism is pretty clear) & the ending literally has the Universe turned into a Hell. Logically speaking if we took this completely straight forward, it’d mean that each one of its children’s realms would be an entire Universe, since the Rings of Hell in most media EVEN WHEN shrinking… are shown as relative in models (so at least five)... it’s just this approach takes more interpretation.

Universal Ao Oni

This was actually one of the most surprising things we found during our research, but yeah—it's probably real. The main gist is that either Shun or the game itself (it flip-flops on both, but the argument doesn’t change) managed to create a completely new parallel dimension that is shown to be a parallel world, with stars inside, maintained by the god who oversees the main universe, and is called a literal timeline.

There’s not much we can really do to downplay this from a cosmology standpoint; the game is said to be a place separate from reality that literally contains a parallel world inside it; it's literally just a full-on universe. The game itself is host to a collection of several interconnected timelines (as seen with the parallel Hiroshi shenanigans in the Fragments Manga), but at a bare minimum, it should equal one universe.

The reason why this is impressive is that not only is the god who created the Oni responsible for this, but the Oni itself, when it invaded Takuro’s computer, was capable of completely overloading the simulation with data (aka literally too much mass for the system to handle), which means the Oni overpowered & OVERFLOWED the laptop powering a universe, and, in the end, literally turned off Takuro’s computer due to all the mass it was trying to process. Given that, in this situation, the Oni was a digital being, overpowering the computer would be the same as overpowering our normal universe; meaning that, at worst, the Oni could destroy an entire timeline with its powers. The only downside is that this feat is anything but physical; it's strictly his powers. He's never really tanked his own magic head-on, so he wouldn’t scale physically. After all, it’d be pretty weird, story-consistency-wise, if he had universe-level durability or AP to begin with; though it makes sense for him to be this strong with his powers or inside his domain… he can literally warp the reality of the game and his mansion itself… and after all, he’s the direct product of a god and his messenger (mf is bound to be strong).

Infinite Speed Spooky

This one is sorta a given, when remembering what was discussed earlier. (Spooky’s Mansion referred to as endless multiple times, has infinite sets of room, Endless Mode literally describes it as infinite- as do notes found), so this would make the mansion infinite in size… the game never really tries to turn away from this angle, so it makes sense to interpret it this way. Now, given this, it should be a reasonable interpretation for her Mansion; considering the Doll House and Karamari Hospital DLCs take place in an area so far down that it is no longer counted by the rooms (the room counter LITERALLY disappears for the rest of the DLC in a mansion that is quantifiably infinite); and the fact that the elevator's general purpose is to descend indefinitely (going down every 100 rooms in main and endless mode); and the fact that the Mansion is shifting and moving at all times—Spooky would have had to traverse an infinite distance to reach Floor 1000 in the main story's ending in her previously estimated ‘Mach 2’ speed feat. The only counter-argument that has been given is that the Mansion is potentially infinite only horizontally; however, this doesn’t make much sense (given the elevator example); plus, the Mansion has shown that there are room types that go up and down. This means that, in the same way, you can travel horizontally infinitely, you can also travel vertically infinitely… making this legit. On another note though if you really wanted to, based on OST names, it's likely she or some random human workers constructed the house- which brings in… some really questionable scaling chains teehee; though its left pretty vague, it is at least good supporting evidence!

Whiteface Stuff I Guess

I honestly don’t think a lot needs to be covered here (we’ll start with feats then delve into WF’s most important ability); just basic points we need to bring up. Whiteface is said to exist all over the internet; the internet contains plenty of ‘worlds,’ and it’s said to have control over all of them. This is where the issues start; there are also a lot of problems with scaling Whiteface to Uni+ via them. Whiteface is never explicitly stated to stop the flow of time via crashing or stopping its game, and the game itself is canonically a fictional simulation; nothing implies it has its own flow of time to begin with. That’s not to say that there isn’t time inside the simulation, but everything shown in the game has pointed us away from this idea of Time being created or effected by Whiteface, as the only thing we’re shown is that real world time is flowing into the game (& that’s very CLEARLY the intent within this world as real & game time are correlated/linked). After All- if there was no time in the real world, game time could never exist to begin with- narratively it’d make no sense to begin with due to how WF would have to be affecting Real World time itself (which makes no sense for its story).

Obviously, our time is abstract in nature, while a ‘virtualized’ time would be easier to understand and not nearly as expansive; in short, even if we did for some reason buy the two being separate- it’s just a lesser version of our time on a much smaller scale—so much so that it’d be weird to call it Universal+. This is a really big issue, as the entirety of the ‘world’ we do see is literally just masses of vaguely sized land, darkness, and fog… and that’s really all we have confirmation on when it comes to WF’s creation stuff. Luckily we do at least get SOME idea of how big Whiteface’s ‘world’ is… in files from WF (in the original language of the game’s developer) these worlds are called entire Universes. Now while it obviously shouldn’t be AS impressive (due to the very apparent lack of stars even during night time, it does at least imply that it is full of planets (similar to that of our own universe) given that would explain where we are for a majority of the game; though that does knock the mass of the universe itself down quite a bit as stars are primarily the reason our energy output gets so high to begin with. Now given Whiteface can control and alter all of these worlds, it’d definitely be able to upscale that. I personally have no problem with scaling Whiteface; though, given it is reality-warping, it could be played off as some sort of hax that requires no real force, which isn’t helped by how we really can’t get any sort of definitive output, given how vague the game is formulated for world sizes. Even if we did scale Whiteface’s reality-warping, Whiteface itself, physically, is essentially featless. It’s never taken hits from its own reality-warping; ‘our own’ similar reality-warping within the game (which is compared to ours multiple times) literally just kills Whiteface at the end of the game when we target it directly, so it’d be strange to say that it scales physically. On top of that, it has no real speed feats and has been outrun by normal ‘virtual’ humans… matching them in certain circumstances. You could argue that it was just playing around; but even then, it has zero speed feats. Its reality-warping is not a speed feat, mostly due to how it’s done. Unlike previous ‘Data’ feats I’ve covered, like Grid Core, Whiteface deletes things like normal files; it’s not sending out shockwaves or doing anything crazy—nothing implies that it's sending out an attack in the slightest. It literally just ‘Control-Alt-Deleted,’ making it quite literally a featless character physically.

The most generous interpretation we can make is to scale Whiteface’s (physical) attack & speed to the Spooky cast, as it can keep up with the player and harm them, which is reasonable. Though outside of that, there’s one more thing to cover: there are arguments for Reality > Fiction within the game, though there are obviously many problems. First off, it’s a copout (I love that word); the argument in general is literally just a stretch for stats, and nothing in the verse really supports it. It’s never implied that the real world is some higher plane within the context of the game. If we went by the logic that us existing in the verse was enough for it to qualify as Outer, we’d have a lot of OP verses. In the grand scheme of things, it makes no real sense for Dimensional Tiering; in our world, it takes physical energy to even power these lower ‘realities,’ Whiteface never affects any of these supposed ‘higher ones,’ and these ‘lower realities’ it’s a part of have literally been shown to retaliate against the higher ones despite a ‘lower-dimensional existence.’ It feels weird even saying that, but like, I see no way to argue that this would be 1-A.

The closest I could possibly think of is claiming Whiteface is above all concepts on the internet because they are technically mentioned there—which, like, no; WTF—it’s not like our computer holds these literal concepts inside it, it's just the mentions of them. Sadly, for our champ Whiteface, this means it doesn’t really have anywhere to place in terms of scaling. Even if we try to argue that Whiteface scales to Spooky’s World, due to how it appears in it (and thus should be able to control the virtual media that it is in), though ironically- Whiteface being able to control it in the first place knocks off any credibility it could have had of being a normal universe (or being universal-sized at all, due to it HAVING to be digital for Whiteface to affect it, which oddly enough is backed up within verse near the end of Spookys- it’s literally never brought up again or implied to be a gag, Spooky is just pissed and the ‘simulation’ breaks and you got so far (plus there’s other context clues like there being LITERAL GAME ERRORS pertaining to the mansion), it’d also make more sense for why data creatures like Whiteface can appear to begin with). Sadly, from there, it’s the same problem of not being able to see any stars in the sky, which is really awkward; it’s literally just clouds—so, uh, yeah, WF’s reality warping should be able to reach MSS-Galaxy ranges on its own… (note I said on ITS OWN) THOUGH- there’s a higher route we can go. Now while personally I think it’s a bit of a stretch, Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion’s ‘Endless Mode’ isssss where White Face appears- & this mode is described as a simulation of the mansion that reaches ‘Infinity’, now… if we take this LITERALLY, since Whiteface crashes the game on death, it is implying it can crash this infinite simulation, aka High Uni Reality Warping (still not physicals), it is a much better feat than his own game showed off which is ironic. The only problem is the same as the original game, crashing the game doesn’t overpower the time running through it, and the space was clearly unaffected due to it still being there after starting up again… Whiteface’s only argument for controlling the simulation in general is just sorta existing there and given this is so ABOVE in size in comparison to the other worlds he’s controlled in the past, & the fact that Whiteface did not create the Spooky Universe (which is the main reason his reality warping scaled to its own worlds), it's very likely that it's not the intent for Whiteface’s feat (plus it’d be disregarding the fact that this outside material would be infinitely above his previous feats, I’m not one for outliers, but it is LITERALLY an infinite gap). That and WF hitting Uni+ is largely unnecessary to argue for given Specimen 8’s previously discussed higher feat; even if we assume WF created MULTIPLE worlds with their own timespace or even that they were infinite… Spooky’s base stats were already infinite (so WF would scale that way) & Whiteface’s ‘worlds’ creations have no timeframe… meaning we could only really scale it to Uni-Uni+ on a absolute high-end (since a ‘Low Multi - Multi’ assumption would need some sort of implications it made these worlds instantly which we can’t prove).

As for the next most important thing in Whiteface’s large assortment of abilities, it’s pretty blatant that as long as its data exists, it can keep coming back; this is shown during the ending where, even though its file is deleted, it continues to exist regardless… it literally just regenerates the deleted file (file gets deleted and reappears). Despite how there was no file left to pull from, it came back, because this isn’t the true core of Whiteface’s data. Eventually, it’s explained that the HEART is Whiteface’s core; destroying that would destroy Whiteface’s avatar and its curse on the digital reality, freeing it. The postgame for the Steam Edition literally states WHITEFACE IS DEAD; there’s no skepticism or assumptions—destroying its heart literally killed it. Even if we assume this doesn’t permanently kill every Whiteface on the internet, it would still remove its avatar from battle completely if killed via its Heart. However, it’s crucial to understand that this Heart is hidden and inaccessible until Whiteface grants access (aka its real code, the heart, is the only way to really kill it). When Whiteface gives up hope… & literally just accepts that you’ll never love it or let it win, it shows its Heart and allows itself to be killed. So, you’d have to make Whiteface lose the will to live or give up- to have any chance at permanently ending it in your world.

Death end re;Quest Feats

The world of Death end re;Quest is a vast one with a lot going on, like LOTS of stuff is brought up over the course of the game- time loops and parallel universes for starters; though for the sake of these feats we’re covering, it’ll just be the blatant stuff we’re looking at- no hypotheticals. Re;Quest 3 has some POTENTIAL feats (including a multi cosmology buff & potential DT solidification due to what the first game established), but nothing solid enough to include especially with no ‘accurate’ translations to base the research on (as it's like a 20+ hour dialogue heavy game), the English Version of the game comes out in a few months- though from what we’ve seen within the game its largely unimportant to THIS research (someone should 100% research it when it comes out though).👍In the meantime I’ll just be discussing the IMPORTANT feats we have at our disposal, aka THE BIG ONES:

Ludens Merge Two Universes: Before the actual argument, it's important to note some prerequisites that may make at least half the feat less viable to some. Now, the ‘Virtual World’ in the game is a space with a planet, stars, and is called a whole universe; this lines up with official statements that claim the ‘worlds’ in Re;Quest are parallel universes. The real problem is that, in the context of the game, everything outside of the main planet- aka stars and such are rendered as images; i.e., the stars and contents of the actual world should be fake (EVEN in the context of it being a virtual world, it's like being FAKE to a FAKE world). The world beyond was a void all the way up to the universe's edge.

The saving grace for this feat is that the plot of the game was to make this universe into reality. Upon merging the two universes, it became a combined reality, and all of the virtual dimension’s contents became REAL alongside the real world. So, at a bare minimum, it was affecting the time-space of the real world; at maximum, it was affecting two universes simultaneously. As for why anyone would scale- the reason for the worlds fusing, to begin with, was the Ludens, who were acting by the ‘request’ (harhar) of IRIS, who wanted to destroy both worlds. The merging of both worlds was going to inevitably destroy both universes.

The Ludens are pretty blatantly comparable to the cast, as they were capable of fighting Ripuka (at multiple points in the game), who was a fellow Luden. While the cast did need the help of the real-world player to amp themselves into actually fully winning, before that point they were able to greatly harm and exhaust her to the point where it should be reasonable to downscale. That, and like—literally right after this—WITHOUT the amp of the player, the cast jumps IRIS (who is the creator of the Ludens & outright shown to be stronger, they expressly derive from her DNA like duplicates) and the cast deals a ton of damage to her. It was made pretty clear they could have killed her if it weren’t for her regeneration, so that’s two valid scaling chains to pull from. That and Celica could breach the barrier surrounding the entire virtual universe, breaking the boundaries between both worlds by getting really mad.

Celica Flew To The Edge Of The Universe: The basic gist is that Celica while basically goofing off started noticing some inconsistencies with the world, then starting flying further and further into space to see if her assumptions were correct… eventually she literally reached the edge of the known universe… a literal boundary around the game (it’s confirmed by Victor she reached the end in the same scene). Now obviously as explained in the previous feat the actual ‘space’ occupying the Universe was completely empty (a literal void), luckily for us that doesn’t really matter for a speed feat- it was still a Universe pretty explicitly, just an empty one at the time. Meaning Celica STILL managed to make it to the EDGE of a Universe in a relatively small amount of time, which would pretty easily quantify for MFTL+ speed given the cast is on par with her throughout the entirety of the game.

Verdicts & Closing Thoughts

This blog and matchup are admittedly a lot more complex than they have any right to be; it’s going to be quite a lengthy deep dive into both of their armies, feats, and abilities. I never really saw myself doing a horror blog (like in the future), but now that we’re here, I can say this is probably one of the most fun blogs I’ve ever done (Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion was one of my favorite games prior to this & after research Ao Oni has become my favorite Novel series of all time); I appreciate everyone who took the time to read it through, as your support helps produce more blogs. Unlike most of my other blogs, however, this one will not feature individual verdicts; we’d be more or less repeating the same general consensus and ideas. Instead, it will be a group consensus that covers both in great detail, so I hope you enjoy it!

And for all those who are interested, here’s a fight script (it has sprite art yippee & is REALLY GOOD).

Stats

One of the most important categories for most debates is the Stats category; both are inherently strong when it comes to feats. They can practically combust heads at around 37,564.8 Joules by themselves. In terms of physicals, the Oni takes the lead when directly comparing them. The Oni can easily rip through steel, push entire mansions, shake a four-stage facility, and create a storm that reaches the 4.33 Teraton of TNT (Small Country) range. Now, if we directly compared them, the Oni would rank between MCB and Small Country due to the absurd feats it's achieved. However, this is not a battle between Spooky and the Oni directly, but between their armies, so let's delve into that.

The Humans in the Oni’s world were capable of producing 1.92 Kilotons of TNT (Small Town) worth of electricity & creating 1.01 Gigatons of TNT (Large Mountain) tremors which leveled an entire city; the Oni’s army were also capable of filling a tower with entire stars at its peak. When considering crossovers, they would scale to Shina's feats in Death end re;Quest, landing the Onis around 1–2x Universal in terms of power… which lines up nicely with its own feat of overloading a Universe by itself. When looking at Spooky's army, she would outmatch the Oni's storm feat with Paina's blood-spewing feat, which hit 70.74 Petatons of TNT (Multi-Continent). A similar feat of filling something full of stars could be attributed to Paina, Lines, and Whiteface (which are comparable feats to the Oni’s tower feat). And at Specimen 8's peak, it should downscale anywhere from Universal to 5x Universal, if we consider each of Bayagototh's "Rings" as their own realities. This means that, at high-end scaling, Specimen 8 (and thus Spooky) would surpass the Oni’s base stats taking overall power.

Speed is kind of weird in this debate. Both of their low ends are straightforward. Spooky, as always without her army, has near-human-level stats and around 120 MPH (Subsonic ranges) with vehicles. However, when considering her larger story mode, she actually has a direct Mach 2 to Infinite speed feat, when utilizing the full size of her mansion. She was at the literal bottom of it—floors weren’t a thing anymore—just as the Protagonist was reaching the top of the facility- she literally crossed an infinite distance to reach us, so yeah, unironically, Spooky by herself should reach Infinite speed. While you could address this feat as an outlier, there’s no real reason to apply outliers on a series or character unless there are anti-feats to suggest they aren’t capable of these feats otherwise (plus in general for versus a lot of series get scrutinized way too much for feat jumps while others get off scot-free); and as you’d guess, Spooky really doesn’t have any anti-feats so it’s fine to use.

Now, for comparison, if we look at the Oni’s stats directly, it’s largely the same. The Oni has instances of vanishing out of eyesight, covering large areas in a short amount of time in crayon, and even his own Transonic speeds when looking at the Gachikowa game, where he ran across a kitchen in about a frame’s worth of time at 316 m/s. Spooky would actually take speed if we only took these into consideration, but again, both verses are way larger than they let on. The Oni has been capable of dodging lightning from a ‘Lightning God’ that came out of the sky. The speeds at which it would take to move in tandem would land anywhere from Mach 19.47 to Mach 87.26 (Hypersonic - High Hypersonic). Takeshi’s big ‘Small Town’ feat earlier was done by shaking really fast. If we take this at face value, it means his kinetic energy speed would have to be fast enough to equal the AP output, which puts his shivering at around Mach 1437.47 (MHS+).

When considering crossovers from the Oni like Death end re;Quest, he would be comparable to characters like Celica, who could fly to the edge of the universe in about ½ an hour, landing at around 1.63 Quadrillion c (MFTL+). And then… we get to the big stuff: the Oni itself is comparable to Fuwatti, as we discussed earlier. Fuwatti, through pure speed, was capable of running backward in time millions of years, which would be an Immeasurable speed feat. In comparison, we already know that Spooky can keep up on the mid-ends. Paina’s feat of launching all that blood reached around Mach 2201.33 (MHS+). Ringu was capable of moving in tandem with TV static electricity inside of a simulation, putting her around 0.36 c (Relativistic)... though that’s where it stops falling in her favor. While Spooky can definitely outmatch all of the Oni’s speed feats when not considering the Death end re;Quest scaling chains or Fuwatti’s feat, the Oni would ultimately be an entire tier above her: Immeasurable > Infinite, making the Oni the faster of the two.

Arsenal & Abilities

To keep it a bit simple, we’ll start with Arsenal. Both had mansions full of all sorts of goodies and monsters to throw at each other. Given that the ability section will obviously cover abilities, we’ll use this to look at their weapons and the more basic features of their monsters at the surface level (the face value stuff).

The Oni had far more versatility when it came to species. It had over a hundred different adaptations thanks to the virus, and hundreds of Onis compared to Spooky’s around twenty separate specimens. Now, this is good for the Oni because overall, the creatures were pretty comparable. Both Spooky and the Oni had variations that could fly, go through the sea, and had non-living and supernatural ones alike… which gave neither any real clear advantage. Well atleast ignoring the adaptive nature of the Oni, when looking at them for what they truly were, the Oni had much, much bigger things to throw at Spooky (I mean this literally)- the Oni has like ten different Kaijus.

In terms of size, while it’s clear that isn’t always everything, the sheer gap was going to make this a little hard, because the Oni had plenty of giants to throw that could clear out multiple specimens at the same time. Plus, the Oni’s mansion was pretty much a better variant of Spooky’s. It was also infinite, could spatially move stuff around just like Spookys, had much more helpful items inside overall, and had all of its Onis packed in one place, ready to go when needed (while Spooky's were spread out). Anything from screwdrivers, to lighters, shovels, hammers, scissors, knives, motor function potions, slowness potions, syringes, crowbars, dynamite… you name it, gave the Oni much better versatility options (especially via AOE). The Oni could basically get whatever it wanted at any time. And it could even warp around with portals, giving it pretty easy access to anything it needed, which gave an area of mobility Spooky really couldn’t match.

In comparison, Spooky’s house only had a few weapons like a wrench, scythe, and minigun. She didn’t have much in terms of contending with the Oni’s gear, besides the gun, obviously… though even that couldn’t deal with the abundance of weapons at the Onis disposal (especially stuff like explosives). And the REALLY important stuff that could potentially get rid of the Oni for a while… is so incredibly annoying to set up, that Spooky was never going to pull it off… like the Scare Chair for example (the Oni would literally have to fucking relax in a chair mid-battle LOL) & the Sunshine Academy game which could potentially erase the Oni if it ever somehow got inside of it (which obviously was also unlikely due to how it could travel in & outside of games at will via Immersion). Though Spooky did have one thing that could at least pester the Oni—the cross. While not exactly harmful to the Oni, it would definitely keep it at bay, which could give her the time she needed to come up with some effective strategies… which in a match like this is invaluable.

On top of that, Spooky had a much bigger army. Even if we’re super lenient to the Oni, the smallest measurement we can use for Spooky’s army is around 2,000 souls. In comparison to the Oni’s hundreds, this could be as much as a 20x difference in size. And on the high end, Spooky’s army could literally be millions of times bigger than the Oni’s army. At the very least, Spooky had a huge advantage in terms of horde numbers (being tens to millions of x more plentiful), while the Oni had a huge advantage in terms of ACTUAL physical size (the Kaiju monsters for example)) & versatility. Though… when directly comparing the two, it was clear that the Oni by itself was much more effective due to its sheer adaptability and how Hanako and Naoki were basically acting as entire field-awareness support for the battle… something Spooky NOR her army have ever done before. They could realistically control the pace by sending parts of the army somewhere else in the mansion with the slave clock or the spatial manipulation. Even if both sides had these options, Naoki and Hanako had ways back, and so did the Oni if it was somehow warped away. Spooky’s army really didn’t have a way to rejoin the fight once they were gone. Meaning that Spooky by a small margin should be taking the Arsenal category… mostly due to the fact that it doesn’t encompass either side's immense hax list; she just had a much bigger army to the point where it’d make no sense to say the Oni won here… and she had a direct weakness in the arsenal category even if the Oni had decent options. 👍

Moving on from Arsenal… in terms of Abilities the two of them have an entire bucket list worth of hax to throw at each other, given there’s so much complexity TO the matchup; this chart will be used to show everything they resist of each other's repertoire… AKA who has more, whose haxs are overall more useful, easier to pull off, and more plentiful in terms of being effective. The chart is definitely the best way to go about it given how much they DO have, so we left a handy dandy symbol meaning affiliation above it… please take the time to read it at your own pace.

After covering both sides' abilities, it’s definitely easier to argue that the Oni has far more hax that would actually work on Spooky than vice versa. Not only does he resist the majority of Spooky’s army’s haxes, but he also has a ton of abilities that just straight-up work on Spooky, giving him many options. Every ability Spooky had, except for one, the Oni had as well—and more. It’s not even funny. Slowness? Viruses? Time Manipulation? Mind Manipulation? Existence Erasure? Soul Manipulation? Elements? Dimension Hopping? Creation? Duplication? Sealing? Information Manipulation? They both had all of the same hax options, to the point where they didn’t really matter. The Oni had basically everything needed to secure the category, given that not only did he match Spooky on almost everything, but he also had stuff Spooky had no answer to. He had Fate Manipulation to ensure that everything would go his way during the battle—it’s explicitly described as guiding people toward their death via fate, which Spooky had no way around.

Ao Oni had much more experience when it came to soul-related abilities and the versatility that comes with it (having done more varied stuff with souls), could literally tear all of Spooky’s Specimens apart with Spatial Manipulation via Hanako, and unlike the entities who had separate abilities, the Oni had all of them in one package and didn’t rely on anyone else in his army—they were just extra numbers… and in the Oni’s case its army was much more effective at netting kills. The Oni had a more diverse ability spread through several elements Spooky had no access to, he had ways around Spooky’s hax, and he had ways to amplify himself far beyond anything Spooky could achieve during the fight via better more varied stat amplification. As discussed before, the Oni could become millions to billions of times stronger if given the chance. And with both having regeneration that neither could bypass right off the bat with ordinary abilities, the fight was going to last an incredibly long time. So even if you argued Spooky started stronger with her army, it was only a matter of time before the Oni reversed that and ended up one-shotting her. The same went for speed, as the Oni could essentially amplify everything about himself hundreds to thousands of times over, ensuring at the end of the day it’d take the stat trinity (if you didn’t buy the Oni already outstatting) which is especially devastating when it already had a way more diverse & effective ability spread. Spooky did have a few things going for her, at least when dealing with your everyday Oni avatar… she could limit it’s movement to an insane degree with Stamina Reduction to give her more time to try abilities, seal an Oni inside a doll, she could paralyze an Avatar permanently with Taker (Specimen 9)- making them unable to move… which the Oni has never resisted before, she could literally just make the Oni die with Death Manipulation via Paina, & she could use the Fear Wall to conceptually absorb the Oni avatar and stop it from escaping… she had a pretty decent range of options that could stop the ONI…. temporarily. Yeah…. Sadly no matter what Spooky did in the long run, she had no permanent way to actually stop the Oni from coming back. He’s a messenger of the Messiah; he can just demanifest and reappear wherever he wants. Every single time he comes into the world it’s a rebirth… there is no true Ao Oni; he just kinda gets made on the spot, so even if hypothetically he was conceptually absorbed, the Messiah could just make a new Oni like nothing ever happened… which basically meant Spooky’s only real chance at killing it permanently, was to either SOMEHOW find the Messiah who exists in some random dimension and KILL IT, or Spooky has to LITERALLY somehow make the Oni want to stop fighting… like LITERALLY that’s somehow a more valid option than fighting to the death here. The Oni is a very, very fair combatant when it comes to those he fights (and often plays around), so assuming that Spooky had some sort of way of manipulating Hanako’s mind, or really anyone important like Naoki… she could probably convince the Oni to stop fighting altogether… except she was never getting that chance. Any option at all, that could potentially get her in Hanako’s mind or body, like possession or mind control… the Oni had direct counters to, any sort of option to temporarily incapacitate them wouldn’t work as it resisted ALL of Spooky’s important hax options and the ones that did work wouldn’t even get rid of them… though Spooky’s one saving grace, was that she was pretty much just as unkillable as the Oni. Not because of her own regeneration, but because of that pesky crossover fellow Whiteface. Yeah, as ironic as it is, neither really had a way to get past each other’s regen… meaning this fight was going to last a really, really, really long time in an ongoing stalemate. If Whiteface ever managed to kill the Oni, it’d just reappear… if the Oni managed to kill Whiteface… it’d reappear… if the Oni killed Spooky… Whiteface brings Spooky back… so this goes in a trinity circle until the Oni or WF gives in. Though what surprised us most during our research, is that the Oni pretty much had a way to secure an EVENTUAL win… if we consider that they are both data beings, which like- is fair since the Oni itself was literally a data being the same as Whiteface when he started off and had the same abilities as before… it means literally all of his hax should work against Whiteface, because all it really resisted was Information Manipulation. This meant the Oni would have to either CORRUPT Whiteface with its infection or find a way to get Whiteface to reveal its heart… which was going to be kinda hard, because Whiteface’s actual true code that is connected to it, is the heart itself. Now, it’s pretty clear that the Infection WOULD work on Whiteface, but the actual Whiteface we do see is just an avatar, and the code that the Player in the real world DOES affect… is basically a coverup, the heart being the real code… it makes a lot of sense to say that until the heart was actually revealed… that sorta glitch or corruption in its code wouldn’t actually work (because that code isn’t actually tied to Whiteface, it’s just a distraction). So, assuming that we go by the game logic of IMSCARED, it means that glitching the Whiteface code isn’t going to actually affect Whiteface… again… that’s not its real primary code, the Oni had to reveal the heart. Now this would take some time, because Whiteface is persistent asf, but INEVITABLY… Whiteface would definitely just give up. Not only did it have zero options to actually kill the Oni, but Whiteface was a person just like me and you… it has emotions & feelings, & if it’s faced with an insurmountable opponent it can’t kill- ontop of the fact that it’s going to be subjected to basically HUNDREDS of different varying options to absolutely obliterate and harm it in brutal ways… Whiteface is going to get really demotivated, and on top of that… the Oni could literally… MAKE… MR/MS IMSCARED itself… SCARED. Now obviously being scared alone is not enough to make Whiteface’s heart appear… but it was DEFINITELY a good start. The Oni had an insane Fear Manipulation advantage, which would be the bane of Whiteface’s existence during the entire battle; it has caused MAJOR PTSD in anyone who has literally just seen the Oni once, it’s caused fear shocks, it’s literally made people incapable of moving, it’s been DESCRIBED AS THE WORST HUMAN TRAGEDY ACROSS THE ENTIRE WORLD… by the smartest guy in the novel (the same guy who literally said he was not in touch with his emotions and basically couldn’t feel them anymore up to that point)… there was ZERO SHOT that WHITEFACE doesn’t absolutely shit its pants and get scared… Now obviously it’s not going to want to touch the Oni with a 6-foot pole, it’s going to want to be as far away as possible… which was never happening because the Oni could follow it anywhere. Go to another place in time? The Slave Clock stops those commands from initiating or time being manipulated & even if WF could… the Oni’s already there. Go to a separate dimension? Nope, it can BFR him right back into its Mansion! Trying to manipulate the Oni’s code wouldn’t work either, and that’s literally WF’s go-to option… he is fighting an unwinnable battle against a monster that counters him in EVERY SINGLE way and had zero options to actually escape… meaning with enough time and effort… it’d give up, and show its heart for the Oni to destroy with its Information Manipulation… which works JUST like our Player’s in the real world, so there’d be really nothing stopping it from getting past Whiteface’s Regeneration or Immortality. Even if you said Whiteface’s regeneration was comparable to the Oni and that it had to be destroyed across the entire internet, as covered in the QNA, that really doesn’t matter… not only could the Oni project itself ONTO the Internet & devices… it’s doubtful the Oni would even have to at that point. Whiteface kinda has to be granted access to your computer to begin with (it can’t really just appear on it), plus these different iterations are separate avatars who don’t reference each other or know about one another in real time, plus they would be in completely different locations… there’s no reason to assume another Whiteface would come to take its place after one loses… in fact, if you wanna argue THEY remember- I’d imagine that WF’d want to stay as far away as possible knowing it’d be going into a literal losing battle where it's currently being ragdolled… which would leave Spooky and her army exposed for the killing blow. So at the end of the day, no MATTER WHAT, the Oni was going to come out on top in Abilities.

Tertiary Factors

This is probably the simplest category to cover. To be frank, this is Spooky’s worst category. We genuinely can't think of anything she would take over the Oni in terms of skill, experience, or intelligence. The Oni has existed for at least 20 years longer, potentially thousands of years longer. It has showcased numerous intelligence feats by tricking and outsmarting its victims. It's shown to be much more elaborate (due to its ability to construct highly advanced traps and setups), and it grows in intelligence with every person it absorbs—ensuring that it would always be one step ahead.

In terms of actual skill and experience, the Oni has fought a much wider range of foes: dozens of different monsters, literal RPG protagonists (some of which had decades of weaponized combat experience, like Celica, a pinnacle of adventurers and soldiers in her world), fellow ghosts and supernatural entities like itself (such as Sadako). It’s even shown that the Oni’s strategy can match these foes and even surpass them, which Spooky could only dream of in comparison.

Even if we consider Spooky a commander of her own army and facilities, she has shown that she is very bad at her job due to her immaturity. No one really listens to her explicitly, aside from the ghost army (who are basically forced to be there anyway). She has never been shown to work well with her specimens or actively command them—they're kind of just there. On top of that, her specimens haven't consistently gained combat experience during their captivity. Over the presumably many years they’ve been stuck inside the mansion, they've mostly been waiting around, doing nothing. Meanwhile, the Oni has been traversing different realities, reliving hundreds of simulations and fights, improving over time. Even worse than that though is that, the Oni just pretty clearly is going to have a much easier time adapting over the course of the fight. Its intelligence is only going to grow with the more creatures it consumes, boosting its already fairly good intelligence exponentially higher… to the point where it’ll set meticulous traps, devise plans, and eventually think up a way to get rid of all of Spooky’s Specimen at once. When looking at both sides at face value, Spooky and her house are full of monsters; the Oni and his mansion are full of highly intelligent demons. Even when considering both of their playful natures, the Oni is much quicker to take things seriously when the time comes, meaning the Oni takes everything in tertiary factors.

Summary

Ao Oni

"I existed, yet no one saw me... Do you have any idea what that's like? Thinking back on it, it was like I was already a ghost."

Advantages:

  • Massively Faster when considering High-Ends.

  • The Oni would become stronger than Spooky’s top Specimen pretty fast due to Stat Enhancement.

  • The Oni would eventually outlast Whiteface in a head-on encounter.

  • Fate Manipulation would consistently kill Spooky’s army over and over.

  • Overall more varied & useful arsenal & hax options; pretty much all of the Oni’s options worked against Spooky.

  • Could convert Spooky’s entire army into new Oni’s if given time, ontop of taking their powers/abilities.

  • Army was generally more useful for a large-scale fight.

  • Took Tertiary Factors by a wide margin (more experienced, more skilled, & smarter).

  • Resisted or had a way around a majority of Spooky’s hax options.

  • Hanako & Naoki would be a massive help in terms of mowing through & separating Spooky’s army from each other.

  • Spooky herself was overall helpless whenever anything directly targeted her.

  • Literally my favorite novel series I’ve ever read (it’s so good).

  • This research exposed me to literally just the entire Death end re;Quest Series (you should play it tbh it may get a blog in the future).

Neutral:

  • Due to regeneration, both sides were just as unkillable & nearly impossible to put down (the only way being the destruction of the Messiah or Whiteface’s heart).

  • Both the Oni & Spooky are generally aloof and probably wouldn’t take the encounter too seriously.

  • Neither side was generally well-experienced with working with each other as a group.

  • Both Mansions were generally equal in terms of versatility & setting, neither really got a home-field advantage due to how the battle would always be shifting spatially between the two mansions.

Disadvantages:

  • Spooky had several methods of actually killing the Oni’s avatars.

  • Likely would start off being weaker than Spooky’s strongest Specimens.

  • Outnumbered massively in terms of army size.

  • Spooky had Crosses around every 100 floors or so, which is literally one of his big weaknesses; keeping it at bay for a time.

  • Assuming the battle got taken out of the Mansion, the light produced from the Moon or Sun may hamper the Oni’s transformation abilities.

  • This video.

Spooky

“I just wanted to be taken seriously. I just wanted to scare people. They overreacted, but I don't blame them. At least I finally scared someone.”

Advantages:

  • Would likely start off Stronger when considering her strongest Specimens…

  • Faster on Low-Mid end feats.

  • Had ways to deal with the Oni’s avatars (Sealing, Death Manipulation, Paralysis, Conceptual Absorption).

  • She had the Oni massively outnumbered at her peak.

  • Her House had Crosses that banished creatures, which is literally one of the Oni’s primary weaknesses.

  • Assuming the battle got taken out of the Mansion, the light produced from the Moon or Sun would generally make it harder for the Oni to transform & copy abilities.

  • Amazing game that’s still relevant today; one of my favorite Horror Games to date.

  • Supports Transgender Rights👍

Neutral:

  • Due to regeneration, both sides were just as unkillable & nearly impossible to put down (the only way being the destruction of the Messiah & the Oni’s Legend or Whiteface’s heart).

  • Massively slower using High-Ends.

  • Had very few options that would actually work on the Oni or incapacitate it completely.

  • Had nearly zero counters against the Oni’s hax options.

  • Army was generally less effective for dealing with a crowd of enemies.

  • Generally incompetent in comparison to the Oni (Tertiary Factors really is her weakest category).

  • The Oni could replicate anything Spooky could with Power Copying, except for one (because the Fear Wall is abstract).

  • Spooky herself was overall helpless whenever anything directly targeted her.

  • …the Oni would eventually become stronger & take the stat trinity via stat enhancement.

  • Somehow hasn’t gotten any sort of sequel or spin off yet (gimme more plz).

Winner Sequence by cheesefm from DBJ (Death Battle Judgement) Server

Kars here, coming at ya with some post commentary!!!, first of all, thank you for reading this blog, even though star has made blogs in the past, this is the first one we’ve worked on (as a team) to make, we worked really hard on this, it took upwards of 3 months and was a real pain to find and manually translate stuff, if you enjoyed please check out our social medias listed [here], otherwise we wish you a happy halloween or.. whatever day your reading this on!

Cheese Here!, I have nothing to say, jk, I am extremely grateful to be part of this amazing blog project, I got to make two new friends who are amazing, and I plan to stick on the blog for the next blogs to come, so expect me to be a casual around here!, nothing more to say, live your life to the fullest and always look up to your dreams! Cheese out!.

Stars here, these guys just sorta showed up at my doorstep one day idk, just kidding of course. The blog was extremely fun to make, it was probably more on the faster side given how much we had to cover; but it was a good time all around. Getting to cover Spooky, who is from one of my favorite Horror Games of all time, against Ao who is one of the most influential horror icons of all time has gotta be a highlight for me blogwise… like I really think we covered basically all there is for both to offer (besides the kid books for the Oni we were too poor to buy LOL) And without further ado, I’ll be working on a new blog as per usual!

NEXT TIME

Yeah, that's right! I thought I'd sneak in one more supernatural matchup while I'm at it, so I guess it's time to unveil another Stars matchup I've had cooking in the oven. It's two goofy yet serious pirates with extremely similar demeanor and contrasting ambitions, who are constantly thwarted by a yellow-associated chap (like color scheme-wise, lol). The sheer hilarity this fight can produce given the tone of both series, alongside a cool dynamic, and showcasing some light on a semi-obscure series like Monkey Island is awesome. Similar to the last fight, it could start small with their crews battling it out, then escalate to larger-scale chaos that really amps things up.

This is the general connections I came up with for the matchup (which obviously isn’t a lot because a matchup like this doesn’t need a million connections to be good):

  • Despite being a couple of goofballs, both are iconic characters (thanks to the popularity of SpongeBob and Monkey Island in their respective genres) and two of the most notorious immortal ghost pirates to sail the seven seas in their own series.

  • Though aggressively scary, both tend to be underestimated and overlooked.

  • Both often kidnap people to join their crew, usually made up of the undead men they’ve killed.

  • Each has constant clashes and interactions with a blissfully naive, heroic blonde-associated character who’s a constant thorn in their side.

  • Both are motivated by a love for money, power, sometimes women, & they enjoy torturing and instilling fear in their enemies as a hobby.

There's honestly a lot you can do with this matchup. Not only does the Dutchman have over 20 episode appearances, but he also has games, a comic run, movies, and much, much more. Meanwhile, Monkey Island boasts a long, long series of games to pull from (over six separate long-spanning games), which gives LeChuck tons of hax to counter the Dutchman. I don't really want to spoil much, same as always, but in my pre-research, I don't really know who I'm leaning towards. Like, the Dutchman most likely takes stats, duh, but LeChuck has some pretty crazy immortality that won’t really let him die unless he’s killed in multiple realms simultaneously, which obviously the Dutchman wouldn’t know about. So it comes down to who can get past the other's insane regeneration first, which is going to be really fun to discuss. I'm currently caught up on everything (NemesisSonic Script got finished, PaperYuu revamp got posted, etc.), so there's really nothing else to go over. However, I would like to note I am holding a blog bracket currently in the DBJ for future blogs I'm planning to do. Right now, it looks like SkulBeheaded and KaibaGemn are on my radar, but we'll see how that goes. Hope y'all enjoy the next few months, if anyone is interested in joining it's the same as always just DM me👍Love you all, and stay safe- until we meet again!
